"Anyone would love it here. The rooms are great. The staff is lovely and very knowledgeable about the area . The restaurant is excellent. Americans (and Europeans, I presume) might love it even more though because Spicers perfectly fit my image and expectation for Australian wine country, right down to the other guests mostly being people up from Sydney rather than off an international tour bus. I could see sunsets right from our room that seemed like they were from a movie set. There are kangaroos hopping around the property, especially early in the morning when us jet lagged Americans are already wide awake. Compared to places of comparable quality in Napa Valley, the prices were very fair. And they’ll do a bag of laundry for $30, making it much easier to pack light on your long trip!"

"We had such a beautiful stay at Palmer’s Lane Estate. The serenity of the area was exactly what we needed—peaceful, relaxing, and surrounded by stunning scenery. The house itself was incredibly well thought out. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed (even little touches like bug spray and hand sanitiser), which made our stay so comfortable. Everything was clean, tidy, and very well maintained. A special thank you to the hosts, who were so caring and considerate—kindly offering us an early check-in and even giving us an extra hour at checkout, which we really appreciated. We truly enjoyed every moment and will definitely be back—next time for a longer stay!"

"We were fortunate enough to stay at the Thistle Hill guest house for the October long weekend. It was, without a doubt, one of the most spectacular locations the Hunter Valley has to offer. Generously sized rooms, enormous TV, a kitchen any chef would be thrilled with and a beautiful outdoor area, including a wonderful pool. In a word, sublime. Thank you Jo, we will be back"

"A good option. Photos are accurate. Clean, well equipped. Views are lovely from villa 1. ...a 5 minutes walk to lovely pool which is lovely especially on hot 33c day. Few maintenance items. Deck is lovely though less so on 33c ++ afternoon. Villa 1deck faces west socopes setting hot sun. Air-conditioning very useful..evening bedroom. Easy walk from villa 1 car park. Easy check in , key in door, Air-conditioning on. Negative is it was 25 minutes drive to the main mid week open vineyards in traditional Pokolbin region. Villas closer to Belford. One direction old north road is unsealed. Sealed option only extra 5 minutes to Pokolbin main region ( Harrigans, Brokenwood, Drayton, Ivanhoe)."

"Lovely spot for a weekend in Pokolbin, set way back from the road in a picturesque clearing filled with wallabies! So nice to sit on the balcony and watch the sun go down as they fed on the grass. Lovely spacious room with kitchenette and a big bathtub. Beautiful bathroom products by Jurlique was a nice touch ! The bed was a little firm for me but my husband loved it. Knocked off a star for cleanliness as you could see the walls were quite dusty when the up lights were on. It didn’t feel super private , you could hear all conversation when guests were out on their balconies."
