Barcelo Playa Blanca

Beautiful hotel, the food was excellent, I have never eaten so well on all-inclusive, although the cocktails could be better. The room was beautifully decorated and had plenty of room, being very well appointed with a proper iron and ironing board! The staff were all lovely, always happy to help if needed. We are definately going again next year!

Very nice hotel, and very big although in June I didn't notice it being too overcrowded. The facilities and staff are incredible and so friendly. Only down side was the food where the restaurant needs a bit of managing and more staff.

A beautiful hotel, however sadly Barceló haven’t got it quite right. For people with mobility issues, this is not a hotel for you as the hotel is very large and lacking lifts. Be warned if you don’t book the Royal level, unfortunately we didn’t and the restaurant was pure chaos for both evening meal and breakfast. In the morning the chef cooking at the cooking station was cooking for one person at a time, therefore resulted in long queues of people waiting for bacon, eggs and omelettes, There were drinking glasses on our table, however nobody came to ask if we wanted a drink. Staff were run off their feet. Thankfully, we only stayed the one night as we thought we would give it a try as we were holidaying in Playa Blanca for six weeks. We had a look at the Royal level area and apparently the restaurant seems more organised. My husband and I would not recommend the hotel unless staying in the Royal level adults only section. This is what we should have booked!

We are at this hotel now, it's beautiful hotel in a great location, rooms are lovely, friendly staff BUT the restaurant lets it down very badly, poor quality, undercooked, not enough clear labelling of options and the dishes are very poorly 'cleaned' we still have 2 nights left here and are eating out now.

Nice hotel, very clean modern room. Only down side was the shower was in the room with shaded glass which would be ok for a couple but as we Travelled with our 18year old daughter we had to keep going out the room when using the shower. The heated pool was fantastic and not too many people in it. Plenty of sun-beds to choose from. Good choice of food as long as not a fussy eater. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

We stayed here in June, Royal level swim up room. Excellent location right behind the infinity pool and near to the Royal level restaurant. Beautiful hotel and room would highly recommend. Our favourite part was definitely the Infinity pool. Plenty of empty sunbeds. Great pool bar. Food is personal choice, we like some foods and not others. The Spa is amazing, we used the thermal pool and had treatments. Hotel is in a great location nearby to the Marina and various shops and restaurants. Amazing hotel and great staff

We are stopping at the Barceló as a treat from my wife after being ill for over 6 months. And now on the road to recovery When we arrived it looked beautiful. And couldn’t wait to check in . Unfortunately our room wasn’t ready and was told to take a seat and would be told when ready . the receptionist didn’t seem to really care. Just a note We arrived at 15:00 which was a bit of a surprise as check in was supposed to be a 15:00. We waited a while nearly 3o minutes , no one said anything so I went back to reception then were given our room . .our room is lovely no complaints. With a swim up pool it was lovely. Looking at restaurants we decided to try the Atlantic buffet. . We were treated with a strange look when we arrived as we soon realised that most people had different coloured wristbands. Ours was white . B&b H/D. My wife thought pay inf for a room upgrade would make a difference. It didn’t live up to our expectations. I am a diabetic and thought the food choice would be good . I was a bit disappointed. So give this restaurant a miss if you are too. . We have another day left let’s hope tomorrow is a bit more special. Don’t think we will be coming back again

The hotel and grounds are huge and it is close to being great but still a few things that need to be worked on. Like most people have said the hotel pool is a bit of a wind tunnel so the pool umbrellas can't be used as they blow over. So if you need shade around the pool this is not the hotel for you as you will burn...like I have! Also the main hotel restaurant is amazingly disorganised for breakfast and dinner. You basically have to get a drink when you arrive and then hope to find a clean table to sit at. Then it is up to the buffet which has the most disorganised layout ever. Want bacon or eggs for breakfast...you have to join the queue for the omelette station as they are cooked to order...which sounds like a good idea, except the hotel has over 700 rooms and at busy times it can't cope. Also I do wonder what half the staff do as their role seems to be to clear and reset tables...but they don't seem to do that and after a while we figured out it would be easier to take knife and forks from their cleaning station and set our own tables. Champs bar was good although most nights there was only one person working behind the bar...and sadly I am not a tanned young girl he could flirt with so it took a while to sometimes get a drink as the pretty girls jumped the queue! So I didn't hate it, but next time I will probably try another hotel on Lanzarote as this one has some issues that don't seem likely to get resolved as it is ongoing feedback from reviews that the hotel seems to be doing nothing with.

We have recently returned from Barceló Playa Blanca. After we booked we saw some of the reviews and were slightly worried. However, we have had the most amazing stay. The hotel is absolutely beautiful. Very clean and tidy. The staff were very helpful. Nothing was ever too much trouble. The food was lovely, was always hot and included a good variety of options available. If you are gluten free they had a separate table at breakfast for food and even a separate toaster. Our room was clean, tidy and had a great view. As a family we could have just done with some more storage space. The pool area was clean and tidy. The children’s pool was brilliant. The only issue was on days when it was full sun and really windy you were not allowed to have your umbrella shade up. This was difficulty was as travelling with our 15 month old daughter we needed shade. It would be good if they could have a separate area around the pool where they had a more shaded area with a canopy like outside the sports bar to offer shaded areas for families. My husband suffered really bad sunburn and we had to seek medical attention, the reception staff helped with this and were really helpful. Apart from some shade needed around the pool for families when you can’t use the umbrellas we have no complaints. Excellent hotel in a brilliant location. Would definitely recommend and we shall be returning!
