"Missey and Sonam the hosts at Taktsangri-La are wonderful and welcoming. Conversations with them Are amazing to understand Bhutan as an insider and as an outsider settled in. They have wonderful staff. To top this wonderful set of hosts, their hotel is wonderful to stay in and is luxurious with very good service and food. The location tops it all - at the foot of the mountain where Tiger Nest nestles. When my wife and I went the monsoon clouds and the mountains around were in constant play with each other creating a visual drama that changed every hour!"

"Incredibly photogenic 5-star hotel located just 20 mins from Paro Airport. Booked a junior suite for 2 nights at the end of my 10-day Bhutan trip and enjoyed every minute of it, including all the modern luxury amenities in my room alone which included an authentic Bhutanese ground coffee complete with French press! Every detail exudes class... down to the toiletries and in-room cutlery. The architecture is simply gorgeous and the main hotel building which houses the reception lobby and restaurants also has numerous comfortable seating areas overlooking the Paro valley... great for relaxing, sitting quietly or reading a book. There's also a small Buddhist temple at the top which you can visit and take pictures of - a good preview of what's to come from you Bhutan trip if this was your first stop. Food was generally very good, offering a good mix of Western dishes and an authentic Bhutanese platter... again, a good introduction if this is your first stop in Bhutan. But as I was already on my last leg of the trip I opted for the Western options including the beef burger (very good) and twice-cooked pork belly (a bit tough). Like what I had experienced for most of my trip, locals seem to still need to get the hang of cooking meat, something perhaps not widespread given the Buddhist culture. :) Otherwise, the food, including their homemade ice cream was excellent. Staff was incredibly attentive, hospitable and responsive, as one has come to expect from the very gracious Bhutanese people. If I had one feedback is that there was NO BIDET in my room which was really strange given that even the smallest 3-star guesthouse I stayed in over the course of my holiday had one. I mentioned this to one of the staff who explained that they were slowly upgrading all the rooms to have a toilet bidet, so I guess I was just unlucky I got one of the older rooms (which was still gorgeous nonetheless)! So don't forget to request for one if this is something you're expecting. Overall, a great way to pamper yourself after all the physically taxing hiking and driving through Bhutan. You can easily spend a day simply soaking up the beauty of the hotel (which I did!) and enjoying all the other FREE activities (which I didn't do as had already seen/done them all earlier in the week!)."

"Dzi Pema is a smallish hotel on the slope of a hill a little away from Paro town. It has excellent views of the Paro valley. My room had a direct view of Rinpung Dzong, but not all rooms may have that. In any case, there is a common gazebo like structure with sofas and books which has the same view that any guest can enjoy. Meals are served in a cozy dining area next to the reception and the kitchen. The staff led by Dechen were always warm and attentive. The coziness of the place and the attitude of the hosts rubbed off on the guests as well, and whenever we guests got together at the dining area, we had friendly conversations, swapping stories of where we had been or planned to visit and about our backgrounds. All in all, a very memorable stay. This was the first hotel on my trip. I reached out to them before the trip. They were responsive on email and Mr Tandin ended up helping me quite a bit with Bhutan rules and I made changes to my plans accordingly."

"Beautiful resort. Spacious rooms, good food, best Souvenir shop with reasonable price, smiling and friendly staff. The basic expectation of any traveller during their stay was to fulfil all the above mentioned ones and this place had all. The spa was also very good. We opted only for foot massage. Reasonable price and good service. Though located little away from main city Paro which is not very far to reach. You can enjoy the take off and landing of flights from the dining area. Airport is so close yet you don’t feel the noise. Overall we enjoyed. Thanks to all the staff. Front office, dining and their team manager all were friendly and helpful. Must stay if you are in Paro. Highly recommend this place."
