TTamuI recently had the pleasure of staying at a youth hostel that truly stood out for its exceptional qualities. Nestled in a residential area, its location was incredibly convenient, offering a tranquil retreat just a bike ride away from the city center—less than 10 minutes to be exact. This made for peaceful nights, ensuring a restful sleep in a safe environment.
The hostel is run by a delightful couple whose hospitality knew no bounds. They were not only eager to assist with any issues that arose but also went above and beyond by providing bicycles. This thoughtful touch significantly enhanced my mobility around Houston, allowing me to reach various destinations swiftly.
What set this hostel apart was the attention to detail and the array of complimentary amenities, including cookies, milk, cereal, coffee, and tea. The cleanliness and smart technology throughout the house contributed to a seamless stay, making it the best hostel experience I've ever had. The bathroom towels folded into swan shapes were a testament to the owners' dedication to detail, adding a touch of elegance and care.
The warmth of the place was akin to being at home, with the owners always ready for a chat, eager to answer questions, and share their stories and experiences. A highlight for me was the world map on the living room wall, where guests could pin their home countries—a fun and interactive way to connect with fellow travelers.
In summary, this hostel was more than just a place to stay; it felt like a home, or perhaps more accurately, a homestay. It's undoubtedly the best hostel I've ever stayed in globally, blending the comfort of a home with the adventurous spirit of a hostel.

TTamuThey say nothing is perfect, but this hotel came close! We received a friendly greeting upon entering the lobby, the check-in process was effortless, and although they didn’t have adjoining rooms they ensured that the second room was mere feet away. They allowed us to check-in a bit early into one room and called within 30 mins to inform us that the second room was ready. They also provided the cooktops so that we could make hot meals for our families. Everyone we encountered was very accommodating from the breakfast staff to housekeeping. Hot breakfast was a plus. The only drawback was that the ice machine was inoperable on our floor so we had to venture down to the first floor to retrieve ice.
The rooms were clean, modern, large and definitely accommodated a family of 5 (2 rooms for total of 10 guests). Many restaurants and plenty of shopping is minutes away, but nothing that shares the same street as the hotel although there is a McDonald’s across the highway inside a gas station. I think not being surrounded by eateries helped navigate entering and exiting the parking lot. Total consensus is we will return soon!

Mariam, at the reception, was willing to assist and offer help upon request. The location of the hotel and the facilities were fantastic as well. All round pleasant experience

AAna m castellanosI stayed for 4 nights and they had to change my room on the third day because there were cockroaches in the bathroom, the refrigerator, the microwave and the nightstand. However, the next room also had the same problem, a little less so, but there were still more cockroaches.

TTamuI checked in very late - around 8-9pm - and the woman at the counter was extremely friendly and nice. She made conversation with us about our trip and our jobs and told us all the available amenities. The room was clean and quiet. The breakfast in the morning was your average hotel breakfast, but had more options than I usually see so close to the end of breakfast time. They did not begin cleaning up breakfast right at the end time, which was nice because they let us keep grazing on what was left before finally taking it away about 20 minutes after breakfast had ended. The vending machines were really cool. There were cheap toiletries in the vending machine that you could buy in case you forgot something at home, and the cola vending machine had ice cold drinks for pretty cheap. I had a great time staying at this hotel and would definitely return if I'm ever in the area again. I've stayed at this brand of hotel (Choice Hotels) before and I've always had a great experience.

TTracy MorganI scheduled a stay on the wrong date. The manager comped me $5. Not a big discount but every bit helps. The room was very clean though it had a strong bleach smell. Lots of contractors and their families staying in the hotel and talking outside our door til late and early next a.m.
