TTamuStayed before our flight back from Austin.
Free shuttle to and from airport which we used after returning the rental car and to get to the airport for the flight.
Lovely hotel, staff were helpful and friendly.
Used the pool at 7.30pm, it is quite shallow but was warm .
Everything was clean, there was a fridge, coffee machine and bottled water in the room as well as usual things like hairdryer and iron.

TTamuPerfect!! New and SPOTLESS room. Yes, a little small for American standards but more than enough for a short stay. Good breakfast, with healthy options (fruit, good yogurt, omelettes)… my husband would have liked more options but I had to remember him that it’s a 2-star hotel. It did not seem like that, but above 😊
Body soap, shampoo, condicioning and body cream. The only thing that I missed was a hairdryer… I have brought one just in case from some others 2-star hotels reviews. I didn’t ask but I am pretty sure that they would have provided one at your request. The room also had an iron & iron table. Very kind personnel. And… kids stay for free!! We are a family of three but even better deal for a family of four!!
Close to the highway, 15-20 min driving to Capitol and downtown… and perfect location to explore the sorroundings!!

TTamuConsistently lovely hotel with consistently good service. The juevos rancheros I ordered and had delivered to my room were incredibly good! And the coffee was nice and strong ….. glad I asked for extra cream and sugars ! Great location near the Arboretum stores and shops at the Domain . Also close to Whole Foods, H‑E‑B grocery store, Gateway movie theater, and lots of good restaurants, many within walking distance.. Large rooms, bathroom stocked with Aveda products. (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, bar soap for hands) was a very nice touch!
The only thing I didn’t like was they have recently started charging for self parking in their uncovered lot ….. I paid $20 on 1/31/24. I don’t like that at all. Just put the price in your room rate and say free parking!

TTamuHave to say, having stayed at several hotels in the area, by a country mile this was by far the best & most enjoyable. The two ladies on reception were funny, full of exuberance & pleasure to interact with. Even if one thought speaking like Mary Poppins would make her an honorary British speaker… had to laugh.., keep it up ! Full marks for effort

TTamuLove the location but the rooms look old and tired. The guests rooms need to be updated and walk-in showers would be a definite improvement over the old bathtubs … especially since the bathroom is so small. The separate living area is nice but not imperative for most of us. Breakfast is lovely and free tho tipping for a custom breakfast order is nice but not expected. I was shocked to see they had started charging for parking last time I was there (this is a suburban business and shopping area, not downtown!) That left a bad taste in my mouth ….. enough that I’m not sure I’ll be returning. Be sure to figure that cost in when comparing rates! Call for latest parking fee.

GGwenyvere9Check-in was a breeze and Veronica at the front desk was very pleasant. Once in the room, because I cleaned up water spilt on the floor, I found the white toilet paper turned absolutely black AND with ***** hairs on it to boot. All this within 1sq ft. I called the lobby and asked how often the floors were mopped. I was told “every day.” I related what I had found to the contrary and was asked if I wished to change rooms to which I said “yes!”. When I went down to retrieve the new key, I took the wadded toilet paper with me and she took a picture of it before throwing it in the garbage! There were two very large, well lit, vending machines in a hallway off the main lobby, and the ice machine was in good working order and the ice, clean and solidly frozen.  I decided I was too tired to check and see if the new rooms’ floor was dirty or not so I proceeded to not ever walk on the floor with my bare feet. The day manager, Mari, was very nice and the coffee was hot fresh out of the thermos on the side table…hot water and tea bags also available. If you detest “sweet ‘n low” bring your own natural sugar.
I ran into the head of housekeeping and happened to mention how disgustingly dirty the floors were in my first room, and I informed her that the night manager had taken a picture of what I had wiped up on my piece of toilet paper and she said she would go and ask to see it. I later learned that Mayra had indeed done so. So that was good attention to detail. Everything in the room worked fine including the remote and TV, the microwave was spotless and looked brand new and it even had a childproof lock on it for those families traveling with curious offspring that haven’t internalized the meaning of “NO” yet 😵💫. The refrigerator was spotless and new looking as well. WiFi was strong and reliable. I walked by the pool, which I noticed was closed (understandable for this time of year!). It was full of water, but I must say that it looked the equivalent of a Louisiana swamp and I was prepared to see a ‘gator come climbing up those darkened, slimy stairs at any point in time.😆 The parking lot at night is VERY well lit around the entire property which is a very welcome sight!
Being right off the interstate doesn’t provide for any exciting venues to walk to but there IS a wonderful grocery store (HEB) .7miles away straight down Rundeburg on Lamar/Rundeburg. Other than that there are a plethora of food trucks doling out South American ‘cuisine’ just yards from the front of the hotel as well as across the street. I didn’t try any of them so cannot opine.
