Shamba Village

While Shamba may have great online presence, this was the most inconvenient, basic hotel we have booked before. Save your money! You'd rather book the cheapest dorm hostel or expensive Airbnb to save your energy. I'll start with the good; big bed, nice pool, good Ac and Fan. So much misleading Internet Descriptions : The booking advertised "high-speed internet," but this is only available outside the room. Inside the room, there was no internet access and if we had not persisted to this being a non negotiable, it would've remained so. Although we were provided with a Wi-Fi extender, it did not work at all. This was all after the two managers gaslit us by saying " all hotels in Paje work like this" Lack of Basic Amenities: The room lacked several essential amenities: No hot water, the shower was not heating up the water in our room. No microwave, gas burner nor refrigerator but there was an unfitted kitchen unit. No kitchen utensils, including basic items like forks, plates and spoons. No carpets, and the floors was sticky, the moment you walk barefoot in the room, your feet would be soiled with dark soot. Poor Hospitality: The staff were rude and uncooperative when we raised these issues. The staff, specifically the lady manager was dismissive and tried to make it seem like the inconveniences we experienced was okay with every other guest. There was no drinking water provided in the room, which is a basic expectation. When we requested carpets and stuff like water, they promised to bring us some.... But until evening the managers just lounged around the pool, no attention or support. We had to leave to source our own basic needs. The shamba village is in dire need of upgrades. We only spent the night and cancelled the rest of our 14 night stay.
