Ulasan Westgate Hotel

The staff there were very enthusiastic and friendly, and the room was clean and tidy. The house's location is perfect, close to the train station, and very convenient. The power sockets in the room are a bit few, it is inconvenient to can not charge at the bedside.

La ubicación es muy buena al quedar cerca de la estación de tren y a 15 min del centro caminando. El desayuno que viene incluído estuvo muy completo, es tipo buffet, variedad de fruta, huevo duro, variedad de cereales, jugos, leche, yogurt, panes, pasteles... La gente q trabaja ahí muy atenta y querida.

離市中心特別近，不行十分鐘。環境還可以，一層樓共享一個洗澡間，兩家共享一個廁所，私有洗手池。

For 150£/ night, I would expect some basic amenities like shampoo, conditioner. Room was old style, obviously no desire for renovation. Afternoon shift lady at the reception was rude and unprofessional , she didnt like qustions asked about construction work noise in front of the hotel. Although work was not performed by hotel, hey can you simpy say sorry and calmly explain the situation rather then yell and get super enoyed. Breakfst waiter polite, check in efficiant and fast. Regrettably this hotel was a bitter taste for me and I would not recommend it.

This is a great basic hotel. Don’t let the works outside put you off. The welcome on check in was really friendly. The room and en suite was clean and smelled nice. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. Good value too. I did not have the cooked breakfast (extra but great value) as I had a cold but the continental buffet was great. If I was being picky, the TV remote was a bit dirty. It’s a great basic hotel and I would visit again.

My husband and I stayed at this lovely hotel for two nights, we were on a budget but wanted something clean, comfortable within walking distance of the centre... And we weren't disappointed...all the staff are lovely and friendly. On check in Gabby spent time with us giving us some ideas of places to visit and nice eateries and some fantastic bars. We were on the 2nd floor (steep and narrow staircase) The room was basic but cosy spotlessly clean and comfortable with an ensuite shower, fresh towels, freeview tv, tea and coffee kettle etc. Desk, mirror clothes storage and hair drier on request. There are building works nearby which restricted parking but the hotel helped us with finding a space for our car and have alternative parking arrangements just a stones throw away. The works are nothing to do with the hotel, however they made every effort to ensure we had a great stay by providing a sound deadening board for the window which worked beautifully. Breakfast is served from 7.30 til 9.30 (£5 for a delicious full English) and outside these hours they have a cafe on site which is lovely. Nothing seemed too much trouble we asked for extra pillows which were readily supplied. The hotel is within 15min walk of the town. We ate at Lulas a wonderful ethiopian and eritrean family run cafe serving food until 10pm which was with 5min walk, they served delicious fresh dishes reasonably priced with lovely friendly and attentive staff. There is a fantastic steak and grill house 'portherhouse' also 2 min walk. Much more pricey but well worth it if you like your steaks! Great staff! And the steak is incredible! You can catch a bus into the city literally outside the hotel and the train station is within 5/10 min walk. There are electric scooters available to hire around the city too at 20p (per minute) - mobile app required. We'd recommend a visit to *Blenheim palace (birth home to sir Winston Churchill) 20 min car drive and absolutely stunning!! *The turf tavern dating back to 1831 set away from the bustle of the city down an unassuming alley with a beer garden, serving real ales and classic bar meals. It's very popular! *Varsity club - lovely cocktail bar with rooftop lounge overlooking the city. *The folly restaurant and bar right on the river. Westgate hotel will certainly fit the bill if you're looking for a budget friendly clean and comfortable stay in a great location to explore this wonderful city!

I was here for the Oxford Half. Such a great experience. Good breakfast, fantastic service, lovely room. I heard no noise outside even though they are doing some works outside - so don’t worry about that. Definitely going to be a place I’ll be back again! Excellent!

This hotel self rates as 2 stars - room was small, no bath, small sink, desk, only stool no chair. Nothing else. Shared bath. If you are on tight budget & this is what you want, then it’s ok. Conveniently located by train station. Negatives: internet was unacceptably slow. Carpets in common areas dirty and need a deep clean. A paint job would make common areas more presentable. Stairs extremely narrow and steep. Continental breakfast included; staff friendly, helpful except for one grumpy individual.
