"I strongly advise against this hotel for anyone wanting a pleasant stay. My experience was a series of disappointments from beginning to end. Last December, I traveled to the hotel to book nine nights for January, leaving a substantial deposit of 30,000 dinars. From the outset, I trusted this recently renovated establishment, expecting an experience that lived up to its reputation. On the very late check-in day, everything seemed fine. But upon arriving in the room, the first surprise: a bed that was far too small. My feet hung well off the end of the mattress, even though I'm only 1.76 meters tall. Unacceptable for a hotel that claims to be upscale. Adding to this was a noisy mini-fridge, left on all night, with a disturbing light that prevented me from sleeping properly. But the worst was yet to come. The next morning, at breakfast: total disaster. The buffet was almost empty. The products were clearly several days old, nothing fresh. The croissants were so hard you could have broken a window with them. And the most incredible thing: no bread at the buffet. When I asked for some, the restaurant manager—out of uniform, dressed carelessly, and presenting a rather unhygienic image—returned with bread… in his hands, without any protection, tray, or napkin. He was even about to put it directly in the toaster, handling the bread stuck inside with his bare hands. A shocking and completely unacceptable scene. Faced with this blatant lack of professionalism and hygiene, my wife and I immediately decided to leave and return to our usual hotel, the Royal Hotel, where we know the service is excellent. The hotel agreed to refund the difference. However, despite sending dozens of emails, I still haven't received anything. A hotel that lacks such professionalism, hygiene, and respect for its guests is simply one to avoid at all costs. An extremely disappointing experience."

"We had an excellent 2 night stay at The Assala Hotel at the end of our 19 day trip around Algeria. Everything about the hotel was perfect. We were given a very large and comfortable suite ( room 301) with a small balcony . It was spotlessly clean and comfortable and even had a kettle and mini bar. However, I would like to comment on the reception staff who went out of their way to make our stay memorable. It was difficult to find a taxi so they even provided us with their own courtesy vehicle to take us to and from the shopping mall. We had a very reasonable lunch in the hotel restaurant and were allowed a late check out as our flight was not until the evening. The young man in reception speaks good English and his lady colleague was also most helpful so I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. A big thank you to all concerned."

"I booked a premium suite for my little family with a price that exceeds standards. Hotel offers being very limited in Algeria where there is not much choice, I opted for this hotel despite its high price. I had to turn around at the time of check-in and not stay on principle for two reasons: - Access to the swimming pool and the Aqua park is not included in the price of the room, despite the fact that this one, as already mentioned, goes beyond the standards. - The reception asks for a DEPOSIT, yes yes, a supposedly 5-star hotel which requires a deposit of around €150 which should cover I don't know what! I am Algerian and I am ashamed of the hotel offerings in my country. A 5-star hotel, recently inaugurated which does not grant access to its swimming pool to its residents and sells access to its swimming pool to everyone, residents or not. And also, a hotel, not an apartment rental company, a hotel that requires a deposit!!!"
