Holiday Inn Newark Airport

I write no-drama reviews. I have this hotel 4/5 stars. Here’s why: There was plenty good about this hotel. The staff was friendly, the housekeeping was thorough. The rooms were nice, beds were comfy, bathrooms were updated and nice. We didn’t use the shuttle but it looked prompt. Our only issues were small. Not enough to say we wouldn’t stay again, but annoying at worst. For one, the breakfast was decent but the buffet area was horribly congested around 9:30. Just not a good layout. But again, just annoying. Nothing terrible. The biggest annoyance was that the entire building works off of only two elevators, one of which was inoperative. This caused terrible waits, especially during peak times and when housekeeping was trying to do what they need to do. It was not uncommon to wait 8-10 minutes to get to the lobby from the sixth floor, watching two full elevators go by in the process. To be fair, I don’t know what kind of urgency the hotel was putting behind getting the broken unit fixed, but we only saw work crews one day of our three-day stay. We overheard a worker complaining about the hotel not ordering a crucial part, presumably to save money. If that is true, it tells me the hotel leadership was prioritizing a few bucks over guest comfort, which to me doesn’t correspond with true hospitality. So I’d say if you want to stay here, see if their elevator is fixed. If so, we recommend the Hampton Inn at Newark Airport.

Need a hotel for a early flight next day Hotel is clean comfortable and had good beds Front desk was nice I had a 4AM shuttle pick up on time and stress free They even had a bags breakfast for those with early flights nice touch Not luxury but super clean and comfortable Only complaint is the rooms a very dark

Stayed at this place a few times over the past year or so. Gotta say... I'm pleasantly surprised!! This last time i stayed here made it my favorite spot in the area. Besides being easy to get to EWR real quick, I like to stay here because this is a nicely updated Hampton. Love the room layouts and the gym [Make sure to get instructions on the parking gate & ticket validation]. On my most recent trip there, though, the front desk staff were super! Aya, Alicia, and Ivy are officially my favorite welcome committee! As a Lifetime Diamond member, nothing makes the grind of business travel less-of-a-grind than friendly people like these 3 ladies. I will definitely be back when' i'm in the area.

Positive. Close to airport and free shuttle that runs every thirty minutes. Comfortable beds. Negatives. Very noisy rooms. Road noise and the through the wall aircon is very noisy. Very un environmentally friendly hotel. Lots of use of single use plates and plastic knifes and forks at breakfast . Breakfast was busy with 20 minutes queue for waffles. Hot water for tea wasn’t hot. Very average three star hotel but let down by noisy rooms and long queues at breakfast. The free transfer was an old bus with worn out seats.

My husband and I would like to give a special mention to a member of staff on Reception when we arrived on Dec 1 2024. We think her name is Aya. My husband requested a gluten free breakfast grab 'n go bag, but there was not one available. Aya went above and beyond to produce a bag that had gluten free options for him. Thank you!

Tired and noisy hotel like sleepy next to a drag strip. Horrible noise, level of cars racing outside all through the night hotel shuttle drops you off at the tram only having to take several escalators two trains and a bus with your luggage to get to the Delta terminal, this location has convinced me not to stay with Hilton hotels.
