I was looking for a secluded hot spring, so I was satisfied. The open-air bath facing the river was just as amazing as the pictures show. The food was delicious and the staff were at a comfortable distance.

The reception of the staff, the food and the bath were wonderful.
Since it is an old ryokan, the store does not have many products.
There are vending machines, but it seems better to buy alcohol and sweets on the way.
There was no convenience store nearby.
Amenities have the bare minimum.
It was a recommended ryokan for those who enjoy the state of the building and facilities as something old and tasteful.
On the other hand, I recommend other places for those who want a clean feeling.
Personally, I was very satisfied with the inn.

Very Good

I had been interested in this inn for a long time because the hot springs have a good reputation and the scenery of the open-air bath on the riverbank is wonderful. This time, I stayed there because I was given travel support. I thought it was a long-established and venerable inn, but looking at the building alone, it seemed like a standard inn that was a little old. There were very few employees. For that reason, the service was not sufficient, and the selection and taste of the food was a little disappointing. (Only the rice was delicious.) Considering the service and food, wouldn't the accommodation fee be cheaper? That's my honest opinion. However, the hot springs, which are a specialty, are perfect in terms of the quality of the spring water, the way the water is used (luxuriously flowing), and the scenery! It reminded me of Sakunami Onsen in Miyagi Prefecture, but here the stairs (buildings) going down to the riverbank are severely old and there are some very steep parts, so it's impossible for elderly people with weak legs! (I think heat shock is also a concern in winter.) Unfortunately, it's a matter of personal preference, but it's the best open-air bath. It's also nice that there are four baths with different temperatures! There is a women-only time from 7 to 8 in the morning, but I think it would be nice to set another hour in the evening. On the other hand, I would like the women-only open-air bath to be open to men during that time. There are separate baths for men and women with different springs in the indoor bath, but this is a simple hot spring and has less than one-third the ingredients compared to the main spring, so I guess there's no need to force yourself to use it? There were a lot of spider webs on the ventilation windows in the indoor bath, so I wish they would try to clean it a little more... There are probably many unused rooms, and despite the building being unnecessarily large considering modern needs, there are few employees and it must be very difficult to maintain it, but anyway, I think it's worth staying just to take a bath in that wonderful open-air bath by the river. This is an inn that I would recommend to people who like hot springs and don't care about cleanliness or amenities.
