1. It is very easy to find, just opposite the train station. You just need to walk straight to the train station. 2. The breakfast is the biggest highlight of this trip. The environment is good and very exquisite. Because the ingredients are fresh, the taste of breakfast and dinner is very good. 3. The room is clean and comfortable. There is a small balcony facing the train station. 4. Because it is near the train station, the environment around the hotel is very poor. There are homeless people everywhere, especially crossing the road to the station is really thrilling. 5. Everything else is good, especially the breakfast is perfect.

We recently stayed at the Hotel Royal Continental in Naples from January 7 to January 9, 2025, and our overall experience was very positive. Location & Safety The hotel is located in one of the safest and most touristic areas of Naples, right on Via Partenope, facing the sea and Castel dell'Ovo. Naples, as a city, is still evolving into a true tourist destination. The city is making significant improvements to attract more visitors, and you can feel that transition happening. This particular area where the hotel is located feels very safe, thanks to continuous police presence. We saw officers patrolling on foot and by car at all hours of the day and night, which gave us peace of mind. The neighborhood is also filled with excellent restaurants offering a wide range of quality food at reasonable prices. Of course, not every place is great, but there are many good options within walking distance. Additionally, the historic center and most major tourist attractions are within walking distance from the hotel. You can take a leisurely stroll and reach the main sights in under an hour. Room & Comfort The seafront location of the hotel is outstanding. The view from our room was beautiful, and we loved opening the panoramic window to let in the fresh sea breeze in the morning and evening. It’s a wonderful way to start and end your day. The room itself was comfortable and well-maintained, with a level of luxury comparable to a 4-star European hotel. However, it's important to note that European hotel standards are different from those in the U.S.. By American standards, this hotel would be closer to a 3-star property. Despite this, the housekeeping staff did a great job cleaning the room daily and replacing towels. Service & Atmosphere The hotel staff is professional and polite, but interactions felt a bit robotic and mechanical. It seemed like they were following routines rather than making genuine connections with guests. That said, room cleanliness was good, and we appreciated the attention to detail in that regard. One thing that stood out is the hotel’s nostalgic 1950s vibe. The hotel seems proud of its mid-century charm, which they promote through signs and advertisements around the property. If you enjoy that type of retro atmosphere, you’ll appreciate this hotel. Breakfast Experience The breakfast at the hotel was excellent. The dining room overlooks the sea, which makes for a lovely breakfast setting. There are several breakfast stations with a wide variety of options, and the food quality was great. Waiters clean the tables and take care of guests throughout breakfast service, which adds a nice touch. We were very satisfied with the overall breakfast experience. Final Thoughts Overall, Hotel Royal Continental is a solid choice for staying in Naples. The location is its biggest strength, offering stunning views, proximity to restaurants, and easy access to the historic center. it provides a comfortable and memorable experience with beautiful sea views and a nostalgic atmosphere. We wanted a hotel next to the train station to go to Pompeii and the airport easily, and this hotel's location is very convenient. But as in most European cities, the area is not super safe at night because it's next to a train station. The hotel was alright, good relation quality/price. Breakfast could be much better, it wasn't great

This hotel values their customer period. My room was not the best when we checked in. Went to the front desk explained the condition of the room. Not only did they apologize for the inconvenience, but they provided a much better room and allowed. They made us feel welcomed and valued. I would definitely stay there again if I had to go back to Naples. A big thank you to the staff as well. Very friendly and accommodating.

The location is excellent, very close to the attractions, and it is also the meeting point or pick-up point for many day trips. Other people's comments said that the elevator was not working well before, so I hesitated when booking the hotel, but after checking in, I found that the elevator was working well. Reasonable price

Nice hotel near Napoli Centrale. Lots of tours go out from this hotel, so super convenient. Lots of cafe, restaurants and shopping near by. Metro station is also close by to visit Toleda or Dante. Overall great place.

The bar to have drinks in the evening is filthy, dirty table linens that are not linens, had marks that has been used and spilt drinks or food. The chairs and table feels and looks dirty, we took our drinks in our room instead. The breakfast has no cooked food just hard boiled eggs, bread are hard, people have to queue to wait to be served by 1 waiter, you cannot take from the table, waiter has to serve even coffee. It’s scary around the hotel, police are always there, dodgy shops around. Stay nearby or at hotels around Ovo Castle. It’s too dirty aroung Gibraldi station where this hotel is located.

Very good hotel, suddenly found that 007 is also taken here, the beautiful breakfast balcony, the seagulls that come to harass from time to time are very interesting! Breakfast can sit until noon, in short, it is a very good choice in Naples.

I traveled to Napoli alone. My car broke down on the way. It was already past 11 o'clock when I arrived. Although I chose a 12-person room, it didn't seem to be full because it was New Year's Day. I stayed there for 3 days in total. At most, there seemed to be only 6 people living there. The washroom and toilet were all outside the dormitory, which felt a little quieter. The bed was very soft and quite comfortable to sleep in. Anyway, I slept until noon every day to go around. The whole city is very unique. I stayed there for 3 nights. I spent one day strolling around the city and another day walking around Pompeii. One night was New Year's Day, and everyone went up to the rooftop to watch the fireworks. The view on the rooftop was really good. It was also part of the youth hostel. There were tables and chairs on it where you could bask in the sun. It was a wonderful New Year's Eve. The kitchen was fully equipped with kitchenware and dishwasher, and there were free tea bags, snacks, etc. You could take them for free. You can make some pasta yourself. There is a supermarket within a minute's walk, and you can buy cheap snacks and water immediately. The hostel is not far from attractions such as the National Archaeological Museum, the Spanish Quarter, and the New Castle.

On my annual trips to Ischia, I like to stop off in Naples. The Mercure Hotel is particularly suitable for this as it is very close to the boat dock where I continue my journey. I love sitting on the hotel's breakfast terrace with my friends or relatives who are travelling with me, overlooking the harbor and the city's sights, and enjoying the very good breakfast.
