Due to unforeseen circumstances , I ended up staying at The Golden Eagle Summit hotel. Check-in was smooth. The location is perfect! The hotel’s entrance was at the back, while the front part is a mall with lots of shops, restaurants and a supermarket. Also, the metro station is right there which was so convenient! The room decor is a bit old fashioned, but nevertheless very clean. The breakfast buffet was ok, but needs more variety. The service is great! Great place to stay in the downtown area!

Having stayed in so many hotels, this one really amazed me and I wanted to give it a good review right away! From the moment I stepped into the hotel, the warm service made people feel very good. The lobby is spacious and bright, the decoration is very stylish, the art ornaments and green plants complement each other, and the atmosphere is directly full.
When checking in at the front desk, the staff is not only efficient, but also actively helps to upgrade the room type, which is super pleasant! The room is impeccable, the space layout is reasonable, and the details are superb. Smart devices are very practical, and curtains and lights can be controlled by moving your mouth. The bedding is moderately soft and hard, and you don’t want to get up after lying on it. The bathroom is separated into dry and wet, and the spare parts are big brands, which are comfortable and safe to use.
The hotel’s dining experience is also superb. The buffet restaurant has rich dishes, fresh seafood, and exquisite desserts. Every bite is a pleasure. The service is even better. The waiter always pays attention to needs and responds to requests. The surrounding transportation is convenient, and the subway station is nearby, making travel easy. I am really satisfied with this stay and highly recommend it to everyone!

The unexpected upgrade from a Sunshine Superior Room to a Deluxe Suite was a delightful surprise that exceeded our expectations. The attention to detail shown by housekeepers such as Ms. Langxia 客房服务员郎霞 and Ms. Hengli 客房服务员恒丽 was truly remarkable. Their thoughtful touches, such as greeting notes, cookies, milk, flowers, and fruits arranged with care, made us feel valued and appreciated.

This hotel’s location is really good. It is located right next to a major shopping mall with lots of good restaurants and stores. It’s located within walking distance from Xuanwu Gate 玄武门 and Xuanwu Lake 玄武湖. It’s right next to a subway that provides easy access to other parts of Nanjing like the Nanjing Museum 南京博物院 or the Confucian Temple area 夫子庙.
The rooms were clean and everything in it felt high quality. The view of Nanjing from my room was beautiful.
Although the hotel staff are very friendly, I marked the service and amenities as 4/5 for a few reasons. First, laundry is relatively expensive whereas at Atour 亚朵 it’s free. If i remember correctly, they wanted me to pay 35 or so rmb per article of clothing. Secondly, the hotel allows delivery of takeout but they do not send it to your room like they do at Atour 亚朵. You have to go to the lobby and pick it up yourself. These are the only two things that stop me from giving all 5/5s. Other than that, I loved this hotel especially for its location and comfortable rooms.
If you dont care about doing laundry or having takeout ordered directly to your room, then those two criticisms are relatively minor things. I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel regardless.

The location of the hotel and the view it’s showing are very very nice, it’s have good smells all the the time and very will arranged. The only small issue for me that they don’t have 24/7 dining option. Other than that it’s defiantly a good choice.

Everyone from the receptionist to the bellhop ( Mr Sha), cleaning lady, room service and staff at the breakfast area were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The hotel facade may look old but it had been a very warm welcome by the staff and was a pleasant stay for us. The rooms were true to the pictures posted on Trip.com. Big thanks to Lobby Manager Deng Juan 邓娟 who was very attentive and helpful. Knowing that we didn't have a local number, she added me in WeChat so I may contact her if we need any assistance. She also helped coordinate with the kitchen for a slightly early breakfast when we had to check-out by 7am, which we really appreciated. Also, the housekeeper in-charge of our rooms ensured that we had sufficient bottled water during our stay. The hotel is also very close to shopping malls and many food options. I'm very glad to have chosen this hotel for our trip to Nanjing.

GGuest UserLocation - good, nearby to Nanjing train station, but need to know how to walk to hotel, go to the right exit (i went wrong exit and had to walk on road for approx 15mins). Local train/subway at doorstep. Approx 1 hour to airport by taxi. Easy to get taxi on Didi (walk to main road next to convenience shop, then book taxi)
Nearby F&B - has lots of small restaurants, and a Burger King within walking distance. Also has a couple of small convenience shops around.
Service - excellent and friendly front desk staff. Gave me a free breakfast upon knowing that i booked room without breakfast :). Upon check in they served a small warm cup of lemon water. Upon check out, they offer a small bottle mineral water.
Room - nice layout, sink is outside bathroom and open area. As per other reviews, the cleanliness is acceptable but not 100% (not for OCD people).
Amenities - toothbrush, handsoap, body wash, shampoo, etc all available
Drink availability - has kettle and some tea leaves to make tea
Laundry - free washer and dryer on 3rd floor to DIY your laundry
Security - key card entry into hotel floor, has a security on 1st floor.
Breakfast - nice small spread of local food. Has also some limited international selection like toast & eggs, and fruits. Has coffee machine and can takeaway coffee.
Overall, i would use this hotel for the location and their friendly staff as well as free laundry.

The overall stay experience is still very comfortable, simple and clean.
Before check-in, I was fortunate to have the administrative manager Shelia contact in advance to upgrade to an executive room. The experience of the executive floor is still good. There are executive light meals and executive lounges in the evening, which are plus points!
The room is very comfortable, the bed is just the right hardness, the room space is still relatively large (forgot to take a photo), and the breakfast service is also good.
Again, a small recommendation👍

GGuest UserI booked Hanyuan because it is within walking distance to my folks home. And my grandma used to work at Nanjing Agricultural University, which the hotel is affiliated with. I read others’ reviews and knew it is an old facility. I did not have unrealistic expectations.
We arrived late at night. Taxi driver dropped us off at the side entrance that has numerous stairs to the door. We had lots of luggage. As we got out of the cab, we saw some staff member in the lobby looking out. Instead of coming out to help us, he walked away. My husband, myself and our seven year old all carried/dragged multiple items up the stairs to get into the hotel lobby.
We checked in and decided that we would need to add a bed for the kid. House keeping came quickly to set up the bed but was reluctant to provide pillows for the additional bed. I had to repeatedly ask before they agreed to bring an extra pillow. Don’t understand why there is such resistance to equip the additional bed with pillow- after all, we did pay for the additional bed.
Everything else was pretty good during our first three-day-stay. We then went away to visit families elsewhere for a week before coming back to this hotel.
This time, our car drove onto the ramp at the front entrance. As soon as we entered the building, lobby manager came to offer us help. He helped us deliver luggage to our room. We are very appreciative of his assistance.
We ran into some issues at the front desk this time. They asked for our passports again and took our pictures for a second time. When I mentioned that we were just here a week ago and all information was taken already, we were told that all information has been erased as we checked out. When we checked in/out the first time, we informed front desk that we were making the hotel our base camp and will be coming in and out a few times. It’s strange that they would delete our information and redo everything all over again.
Again we need to add a bed. House keeping brought a roller bed which has a stained mattress pad. I asked them to bring a clean one, they said they could not. They said they didn’t have any clean pads. They said the only option is to remove the pad and put the sheets directly on the mattress. They further suggested that since the sheet is clean, dirty pad doesn’t matter and that every mattress pad under bed sheets has urine stains. His words made my stomach turn but I was too tired to fight so they went ahead put sheets on top of the mattress pad that has a big yellow stain. Again I asked for pillows for the additional bed, they refused at first, upon my insistence, they agreed to bring pillows. They also took out a blanket from the cabinets under television and put it on the bed.
When the seven year old was ready for bed, I opened the blanket and realized it’s cover is dirty. It’s dusty and has multiple stings of hair on it. I called house keeping, a lady quickly bought over a clean duvet cover for the blanket but refused to take away the dirty one. She insisted that we keep the dirty duvet in the closet. I did not understand her rationale but there isn’t anything I can do. So that dirty duvet cover stayed in the closet.
Maybe I should not have come back to this hotel.

SSir Eric JohnStaying at the Jumeirah Nanjing is a ”must” experience for all travelers to the city. The hotel has a perfect location, being only 5min from the olympic stadium area and the Nanjing eye scenic area. The hotel staff are polite, friendly, and speak perfect english. The hotel rooms, whether city view or river view, are all sublime. Spacious room with spacious bathroom and complimentary drinks in the mini-fridge, the holiday feeling when you enter the room is immediate. The hotel has is home to a number of restaurants that offer a range of meals. Additionally, the hotel buffet is great (cost approx 350CNY) and includes a variety of meal options from seafood to steak to vegetarian options. I stay at this hotel once or twice per year and i thoroughly enjoy the stay each time.

WWONGEdwinOur trip to Nanjing left us with beautiful memories and a very positive impression. Largely attributable to the very pleasant stay at Swisstouches Hotel. We stayed in the suite from end May to early June.
1. Very clean and comfortable suite - About one of the most comfortable rooms I have had stayed in recent memory. Spacious, clean, well - kept, well - maintained. Reasonably priced. Whole place smelled good, no hint of musky odour, no tobacco smell, children had zero issue with allergy. Sound proofing was great.
I do wish the kitchenette is better equipped with microwave oven, utensils and simple crockery. Not that we cook in the room, but I guess it is more convenient to have simple utensils available in the kitchenette.
2. Courteous, attentive and responsive service - Reception was courteous, patient and reliable. Restaurant staff were obliging and prompt (requests were attended to promptly, room cleaning staff were responsible and detailed. (I accidentally left the Do-Not-Disturb sign on, they left a note reminding me about that, and took the initiative to return in the evening to clean up the room - all without any request from me. I thought of just going letting the room cleaning pass for 1 day). Such conscientious work attitude is hard to come by.
3. Food was hygienic and ample - The buffet breakfast was amply stocked and spread was decent. Not an emperor's feast, but way enough to surpass expectations for most people.
4. Location was decent, safe - The hotel is situated in the outskirts of Nanjing city. So you get the tranquil, but you wont have the hustle and bustle. There are convenience stores and eateries well within a stone's throw. Ride hailing taxis are easily available too. But if you are expecting to walk to the tourist spots, you will have to stay in the heart of the city. I personally prefer a location like Swisstouches' .
5. Facilities - I only tried the swimming pool and gym. Very decent. Good enough for exercise and workouts during travel. Gym was well equipped, albeit a little messy. But that's more of gym users rather than the set-up. Swimming pool was well maintained and monitored at all times. Great for lane swimming.
All in all, fantastic stay. Go back again? Big Yes.

SsteelbossI am from New York and am based in Suzhou, China. I stayed at this hotel during a busy holiday and was very concerned about Nanjing traffic. This hotel has an excellent location near the university city and many theme parks, such as Nanjing Happy Valley. The level of elegance of the rooms was comparable to the now-extinct 6-star rating. You would have to see it to believe it, including the electric toilets and beveled glass doors.
However, I decided to post a comment because of the restaurant. I have been in China for 23 years and usually travel for business. Breakfast at most hotels is not good, and nothing like in Western hotels. Because of this, I drove to a fancy restaurant and wasted a ton of money on horrible food. The next day, upon checkout, I decided to eat at the in-hotel restaurant and was totally shocked to find two interconnected dining facilities, consisting of a hot pot buffet on one side and an À la carte buffet on the other. I chose the À la carte because my son saw the grilled beef kabobs and had to have it.
Here is the best part: When you enter the buffet, you get a small card you pre-charge with money. I charged RMB 300, or about $41.66. You go through the buffet, take what you want, and swipe the card for each item. You only pay for what you eat. There had to be no less than 80 items on the buffet, from vegetable dishes, soups, pasta, beef (tenderloin), rib steak, short-rib steaks, fish, shrimp, traditional noodles, eggs, omelets, various bread, fruits, and many traditional Chinese dishes. There were four of us, and we were stuffed. Ultimately, I returned the charge card and was refunded RMB 35. This means I spent RMB 265 for four people or RMB 66.25 ($9.20) per person for a spectacular buffet.
This was hands-down the best hotel experience I've had in China, for room, and dining.
I really did not like one thing. A workstation outside deals with tiles, marble, masonry, and maintenance. It does not look good, and that was my view. The laydown area uses part of the parking lot. The yard needs to be cleaned up, and the work site covered or contained in a shop. This is a major management gaff void of marketing awareness. I still rate the hotel a 5-star.

The room layout was excellent for our needs. It featured a separate living room and bedroom, which allowed my son to have his own space to play while I could relax or work in peace. The bathtub overlooking the lake was a lovely touch and provided a relaxing way to unwind after a day of exploring. The view of the lake from the room was stunning and added a serene atmosphere to our stay.
However, I did notice some stains on the floor, which detracted from the overall cleanliness and luxury feel of the room. While it didn’t ruin our stay, it was something that stood out and could be addressed to maintain the hotel’s high standards.
The location of the hotel was a bit of a downside. While the lakeside setting was beautiful, there wasn’t much around in terms of dining or entertainment options. We had to travel a fair distance to find good restaurants, which was inconvenient, especially with a child.
On the positive side, the staff were friendly and accommodating, making our stay comfortable. The breakfast buffet was also a highlight, offering a wide variety of options that catered to both my son’s and my preferences.
Overall, the InterContinental Nanjing provided a pleasant stay with its spacious room layout and beautiful lake views. However, the lack of nearby dining options and the cleanliness issue in the room were noticeable drawbacks. With a few improvements, this could be an exceptional hotel for families.
