Nice hostel facilities and breakfast. HOWEVER There is one employee who will make your life miserable. Here was my experience. He came into the room at 00:45 and made a bunch of noise. In and out of his locker, not even trying to be quiet. Dragging stuff around, etc. Didn't matter to me, it's a hostel, plus I was watching TV very quietly. After his five or so minutes of banging around, he asked me to turn the volume down. I literally clicked the volume down then up, and asked if it was okay and he said yes. Ha! The street noise was more than my movie, for reference. What he did next was even more upsetting. He proceeded to wake up an older gentleman, and ask him to turn off his nightlight... the extremely dim nightlight that I'm sure the hostel chose so that they could be left on and not bother people, yet safely go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. The crazy part is I saw in his pile of stuff both earplugs and a sleep mask. He was also bottom bunk, so could have made a sheet curtain like I had done with my comforter. Why did he do these things? Solely as a power grab I believe. He also told me he liked to sleep in until 9, breakfast starts at 8 and is when my alarm went off. Right on! He did change rooms, but continued to enter ours to retrieve items from his locker and the closet. Often neglecting to close the door on his way out. He's a bully, I have spoken to others here who have had the same experience. The other staff are all wonderful, helpful people. Solely because of him, I would recommend staying elsewhere.

Staff need more training on how to welcome, direct and inform guests about protocols

Terrific location and super clean accommodation - basics only. Double bed is akin to an American Full. Recommend as a great base for Montreal; also strong wifi!

Some one robbed me , wallet with credit cards , almost 1000ca and they never made the police report, no much security in the place. I found a better place by du parc avenue. For sure never gonna stay again in this noisy place, no privacy, looks old , much better places around montreal and almost same price.

The room looked nothing like the photos. The bed was a futon. The remote control did not seem to affect the heat, and it was an unusually cold night. Staff was wonderful. It was a lovely hostel ...but it is not a hotel.

Great location, good price and friendly staff. The sheets could have been cleaner, but the rest of the space was tidy. The walls were a little thin and there was some construction outside our window. I would not recommend if you are a light sleeper.

the only issue is the number of bathrooms. 2 bathrooms for 40 people just isn't enough lol

Friendly & welcoming hostel with private rooms catering for a wide range of clientele. Great location - walking distance to everything we wanted to do. Nous Sommes Cafe a short stroll away was a bonus! Excellent value for money. The rooftop is amazing.

I had a private room in the basement. It was OK, but based on the pictures, there are probably better ones in this establishment. Breakfast is included, with consists primarily of pancakes. It's important for visitors to know that there is no parking in the area whatsoever. For the first night, I ended up parking in the garage of a nearby hotel. On subsequent nights, I parked at the Grande Bibliothèque, which is 800 meters away. (This garage tried to overcharge me; grrr!) Good location; close to a Metro station, lots of restaurants (including at least three brew pubs) nearby.
