Montaldo Castle & Resort

We had a rotating party of 13-14 guests for the better part of a week. Staying in a 1000 year old castle/fortress with all the current bells, whistles and service was amazing! Food, spa, pools, panoramic bubbly mineral tubs and sauna, and 8 dramatic weddings to entertain the grand-daughters kept us busy between trips into Turin and Cherri! Wonderful memories were made!

We have just had an amazing meal at Restaurant Crotin. We were greeted by an extremely polite and very professional young man called Abdul. We asked for his advice in choosing the best wine to go with our meal and he was extremely knowledgeable and suggested wine that went perfectly. I’m English and although I’ve lived in Italy for 10 years I sometimes struggle with the language, our waiter was very polite and patient, well mannered and professional at all times. He was very quick to take our order and our food arrived in no time at all. The quality of the food in this restaurant is top notch!! I’ve just had the Plin, the sea bass and the pears in wine for desert. All absolutely amazing. A very high end luxury restaurant with great staff. A real asset to the hotel ‘Castello Montaldo’.

We spent 4 nights in the hotel. Upon arrival, you will find out that the parking lot and the reception are quite far from each other and no one will help you with your suitcases. We were warmly welcomed at the reception and we were given a free upgrade to a suite, which pleased us, but the room was not much. Although the room was very spacious, the equipment was really outdated and not in good condition. The whirlpool in the room was moldy, there was a lack of towels in the room and they were not replenished at the back. On the penultimate day, no one even came to clean the room and change the towels The staff didn't speak much English, but some didn't speak Italian either. The breakfast was very average, rather bad, the coffee never arrived. The indoor pool was very small and there were no hand pools available. no one was available to help you. The outdoor spa was nice. If you wanted to order a drink by the outdoor pool, it was very difficult to get a waiter. The same waiter then served dinners. we had the feeling that he is the only waiter in the whole hotel. We will definitely not return to the hotel, we were really disappointed. What's good - location - 20 minutes by car to Turin.

Castello di Montaldo is a lovely place to spend a weekend with the family, but my stay was ruined by the masseur at the spa. Totally unprofessional, when I arrived for my appointment he was watching a tennis match on his phone and didn't turn it off. I had booked a 25min back and leg massage but the masseur spent most of the time massaging my buttocks which made me extremely uncomfortable. The massage lasted 40min instead of 25min (he took his time...) but it didn't relax me at all. The masseur's name was Pier, don't book anything with him !!!!

One has to be aware to stay in a building that is not less than 1000 years old(!). However, none of the things that make a stay incredibly beautiful is missing. We enjoyed every second, from dawn ‘til dusk and from dusk ‘til dawn. It starts with a nice breakfast where …(her name follows – I can’t find the piece of paper, where it is written… ;-) …) serves an excellent Italian coffee. During the day, the Piemonte region invites for activities and the nearby city of Torino wants to be explored. The hotel’s restaurant is formidable, and the spa area is state-of-the-art (one of the highlights: outdoor sauna with a window, overseeing the landscape and furnished with a real wood oven) – with excellent treatments (specifically to mention: massages by Michela and Enzo). If something shall be corrected or if there is a question, the reception desk is always there with extremely nice staff.

Ottima esperienza in questa location dove abbiamo partecipato ai evento spa e soggiornato per una notte. Personale molto gentile. Sauna esterna , interna piscina acqua calda interna e idromassaggi esterni su panorama delle colline. Il tutto accompagnato dalla gentilezza e simpatia di Leo e il suo staff.

Struttura molto bella gestita da Direttore e personale non idoneo alla tipologia. Ho festeggiato il diciottesimo di mia figlia da incubo. Inizialmente mi è stato detto dal direttore che la festa si sarebbe svolta con aperitivo reale all' esterno, sopra la scalinata, per poi proseguire sotto la scalinata la cena nel dehor , con taglio torta davanti la scalinata, seguito da fontane luminose a ritmo di musica. Mi hanno fatto pagare tutti i servizi anticipatamente per poi non avere nulla di tutto ciò Siamo stati messi in un tendone attaccati allo scarico merce della cucina di qui io non ho accettato e discusso . Mi danno una sala interna rimanendo con aperitivo nel tendone (tutto questo perchè al nostro posto hanno piazzato un matrimonio) cerco di non prolungarmi e salto altri episodi spiacevoli.. per il resto dell'organizzazione ci sono state mail e telefonate precedentemente , girate a vuoto senza risposte .DJ ,scocciato, ha messo della musica che viaggiava da sola e lui andava via(non so dove)abbiamo rianimato noi con l'arrivo dello spogliarellista. La stanza dedicata alla ragazza (allergica alla polvere)con polvere come da foto allegata anche di scarafaggio davanti la porta delle camere per poi finire alla torta, scritto sul contratto NO FRAGOLE per persone allergiche(vedi foto) Dispiaciuta da tutto ciò, mi auguro che questa mia esperienza negativa, possa servire ad altre persone in positivo..

Esperienza unica anche questa volta . Questa volta ho soggiornato con il pacchetto day and night con la camera" La romantica",che dire pacchetto ben organizzato e ben strutturato massaggio e percorso benessere fantastici ,personale del area massaggi preparato , per non parlare poi del ristorante dell castello pulito caratteristico con cibo di prima qualità con piatti locali piemontesi e anche pesce .che dire cameriere / metrè veramente preparato ci consigliato un ottimo vino per la Cena complimenti a tutto lo staff dalla reception alla cucina per non parlare di Albero il cameriere della sala colazioni sempre preparato e sempre disponibile a ogni richieste .

Questo weekend io e mio marito ci siamo regalati due giorni al castello di Montaldo , bellissimo posto molto rilassante, personale stupendo e gentilissimo ,camere pulite, mangiare molto buono ,e la chicca stupenda è stato il massaggio fatto da Enzo e Barbara,due persone bravissime a modo e capaci di farti rilassare alla grande , grazie ritorneremo molto presto per rifare questa bellissima esperienza
