Our stay in Matera at Conche Luxury Retreat was fantastic! Tiziana, Carla, Alessandra and Valentina went out of their way to make sure we had everything we need during our stay. The rooms are all beautifully decorated with modern conveniences using the existing structures of the historical cave structures in Matera. The breakfast is outstanding - a variety of delicious local food. I would highly recommend you visit magical Matera and you would not go wrong staying at this beautiful hotel.

Beautiful property. Meticulously maintained. Homemade Italian breakfast included. Easy to walk everywhere within the Sassi. Room was beautiful and spacious. A huge call out and special recognition to Victor who checked us in & gave us a 40 minute history lesson about Matera. Parking is about a 10 minute walk away in a safe clean parking garage & the hotel also has shuttle service for 15 euros. We had a family emergency and had to return to the US and Victor went above and beyond helping us communicate with the rental car company to return our car early. He was helpful and compassionate and will not be forgotten.

My mother and I stayed 3 nights and enjoyed our visit so much. Matera is so interesting and it was a delight to get to stay in this beautiful cave hotel. Breakfast was delightful to sit on the patio, the beds were comfortable and the service was great. Victor was able to make many recommendations and was so helpful as traveling with my elderly mother did require extra attention. I highly recommend that you choose this hotel if you are visiting Matera.

Beautifully designed luxury cave hotel. Our family had a very comfortable 2-night stay and our kids loved sleeping in a cave. The room has air conditioning and was very well-ventilated. They thought of every detail and design element Perfect location in Sassi Caveoso and steps away from many good restaurants. We had lovely breakfasts outdoors and the food was really good. The people at Conche Luxury Retreat were so helpful and super responsive. Matera is the most memorable town we visited during our Pulglia and Basilicata trip. I highly recommend staying at Conche Luxury Retreat and seeing Matera at night and early morning when the light makes town even more stunning.

With just 4 rooms nestled into the rocks at this unique site, we had everything we needed thanks to the immense attention to detail we were offered by Victor and Tiziana. The in depth instructions supplied well ahead of our one night stay, as to location and parking dos and don’ts made our arrival and departure extremely easy. The room was immaculate and although ours was a smaller one, had everything we could need including a fabulous bathroom. A very talented designer has had a good hand in all aspects of Conche… the lighting and materials used are all stunning, bringing together the ancient and modern. The breakfast included in the price was fabulous and catered for all tastes. To be highly recommended and whilst perhaps not the cheapest of stays that you could find in Matera, is totally worth it for the unique location, atmospheric property and high standard of care and attention from our kind hosts.

Conche Luxury Retreat is located within walking distance of everything in Matera. The hotel rooms are built into the side of the caves which provides a unique experience for the stay in Matera. The hotel was very clean, the rooms are spacious with everything you need for your stay. Breakfast is plentiful and served by very friendly and helpful staff. Big thank you to Victor on reception who provided a 1st class service and made the trip a very pleasant one.
