When our bill came, it was much higher than I expected. Reviewing the line items, the last one was a "Service Fee" of 20% on all items. I inquired with our waitress if this was for the tip. She said, "No, it was a shared pool for the employees so that management could pay the labor more money. A tip for good service is on top of that". I was furious. I am glad management pays more for their employees, but include this large 'fee' in the price of the food item...not in very, very small italic font at the bottom of the menu that can't be seen in the dim lit restaurant. I ordered NY Strip for $75. It's NOT $75, it's $90. Say it's $90 or it creates a customer sense of false advertising and leaves a very bad impression. On the quality of the food, my first 5 bites of the Strip was gristle that I had to politely spit out on my plate because it couldn't be swallowed. I figure there should be enough margin on the Walmart steak with gristle and $75 to pay their employees but if not, please be more forthcoming on the true prices of your marginal food. We will never come back to this disingenuous restaurant.
