Cocotinos Lembeh A Boutique Dive Lodge

Friendly and competent staff, beautiful rooms in a quiet location on the beach overlooking Lembeh Island made my stay a real pleasure. Add to this the great dive team and AMAZING muck diving (pygmy seahorses, pegasus mothfish, so many devil fish, seas snakes, garden eels and sooo much more) and you have a great place to spend time! Shout out to my diving guide Harvey who is incredibly knowledgeable, and the team 😀 Unforgettable!

We came here for one night after couple of days of trekking. It was a comfortable stay, with good food. We did not dive here but the beach was still good for snorkelling and we saw some beautiful reef and creatures. The only thing I could 'complain' about was the beach at the hotel - I would like it to be cleaner, there's a lot of trash lying around and it would be a nice effort if the hotel cleans it daily. Overall a good, relaxing stay and a nice staff who is attentive.

The resort was not big with only 10-15 rooms, me and my friends were the only guests during our stay, we liked it because the pool were only ours alone to use. The room was clean and comfortable, not so big tho but still very cozy. You can also dip into the beach right in front of the swimming pool. Staffs were friendly and accomodating, we told the staffs we are going to make tiktok videos and do a promotion about the resort, you can check it out on tiktok. From Manado it takes approximately 2 hours and the last 20 minutes ride from Bitung to the resort was very narrow and steep, be careful if you drive. And oh wait, the only catch was when we arrived it was too noisy with music and people screaming, turned out it's the neighbors who live right next to the resort. Overall our stay was memorable, and would definitely come back and stay at this resort again.

Living in Indonesia during this time of the pandemic means that we are often the only guests in dive resorts, and this was true at Cocotinos too. So we certainly had personalized service - and it was excellent. Staff are very helpful, kind. Diving (with the onsite outfit, Odyssea Divers) was as anticipated - something new on every one of the 10 dives we did. Downside: the restaurant offers a very limited menu, understandably because of lack of guests at the moment, and even within it there are often dishes unavailable. However, you can ask for off-menu items and the cook will try to oblige - or in the case of bubur Manado (highly recommended!), there's a place nearby that makes it, and the staff will go source it. Rooms are spotless, bathroom too, and shampoo/soaps of higher quality, not the chemical crap that some hotels buy to cut costs. A mini-fridge and safe are in each room. Book online via Agoda, ***********, or Tripadvisor for best rates, which include breakfast, which should be in the Rp 555,000 - 750,000 range for a "standard" room (one without a balcony). Cocotinos will arrange airport transfer for a reasonable price - it's 90 minutes to/from the airport, with a fairly hefty toll charge. They will also arrange a visit to Tangkoko to see tarsiers and black macaques, not Sulawesi endemic species. For those who might fly with the requirement of a PCR test, you will have to go to Manado for this - RS Hermina is probably the best option, arrive before 08:00 to queue for the test (Rp. 900,000), results the following day - and they will email them so that you don't again have to make the trip to Manado.

+ excellent petit déjeuner. Très copieux. J’en ai laissé beaucoup chaque fois! File de la réception super gentille qui m’a même trouvé un transport pour tangkoko et parle très bien anglais. Personnel du dive shop a+. Piscine propre et température parfaite pour se réchauffer lors du retour des plongées. Chambres propres et bien équipées. - Équipements de plongée cruellement déficient, ayant besoin d’être changé ou sérieusement entretenu! Hoses des octopus craquées et sèches. Overflow à la surface avec un régulateur… changement de materiel…puis o-ring sèche…retour encore sur le bateau pour le changer….Si ce dive shop avait été à côté de d’autres je n’y aurais pas plonger par souci de sécurité! S’il était question icic d’évaluer le centre de plongée j’aurais mis 2 *pour la gentillesse du personnel et enlever les 3 autres à cause du matériel. En plus on charge le double du prix de d’autres dives shop de lembeh pour la location! Lit king sont en fait 2 lits simples collés donc crack inconfortable et dur au milieu du lit.
