Ulasan Sofitel Lyon Bellecour

We stayed at a double room in the Sofitel in Lyon for a total of 3 nights in the summer of 2023. The hotel is located just a few streets from the Place Bellecour which is one of the main squares in Lyon. It is also about 5 minutes away from many cafes, bistros and a large supermarket (Monop’) near Place Bellecour. The room itself was a fairly standard double room (approximately 20 square metres). The interior and furnishings of the hotel look a bit dated but they were fine and did not matter in any material way. The minibar is complimentary and it is restocked daily with bottled water (still and sparkling), fruit juice, coca cola, and dried fruits and nuts. The bed was nice and comfortable and the pillows were firm. Our only complaint was that the air conditioning was not very consistent and it would turn off in the middle of the night. It is not an issue if you are staying here in the winter but it made it difficult to sleep at night in the summer. The staff were all very nice and pleasant. The concierge was especially friendly and he helped us to store our bags and arrange for a taxi to the train station on our last day. We paid approximately EUR250 a night and we thought it was worth the price.

Staff always very friendly and attentive. Nice view from the room. Perfect breakfast also enhanced by a superb panoramic view. The only point of improvement concerns the room which would deserve a little refreshment (modernity)

What I like most about the hotel is that the towels are soft and the toiletries are also good! And the view at 6 o'clock in the morning! Because I don't know how to use the blackout curtains, I need to adjust them, and the curtains can't block out the light. I think the carpet is a bit old. Although there is no odor in the room, the corridor, door and carpet are all old styles. I didn't live very comfortably. Although the quilt and bed are very comfortable, I always feel a little gloomy. The waiter is very good! The minibar is free to use, and there is a 14-hour room service. It is not suitable for long-term stay.

Horrible hotel, I don't understand how it can have 5 stars. We rented the most expensive room available, a two-room one, for 3 days they never cleaned the room, there was a terrible smell in the room and on the floor. We arrived at the hotel at 15:00 and the check-in according to the reservation was written from 15:00, they tried to make us wait until 16:00 citing such hotel rules, with a fight they finally checked us in at 15:00. No fresh water was provided in the room. The condition is like a run-down grandma's apartment.

The corridor of the room has an old smell, but the room is quite nice when you walk in. Friends who drive here can park in the underground garage, which is quite safe. The location is also close to the tourist attractions and commercial streets.

It's a very bad hotel. It's too old and the rooms are small. It's at the level of a county guest house in China. I paid 1,600 a night. It just came up in front of me when I searched. The location was pretty good and it was Sofitel so I booked it. I regret it so much now.
