1. Rooms were nice but no fridge
2. Not family friendly (they are strict on 2 pax per room policy)
3. Manager “Mayank” attitude was questionable
Context.
We came as a family of 7, I booked one room for my wife and two young children. My brother booked two other rooms for himself and my parents.
When we were checking in, the lady (didn’t catch her name) told us I would need 2 rooms for 2 adults and 2 kids.
So this was my bad, I admit so I readily agreed to check out the price if I were to book another room.
So the lady advised me to sign up as a member on their company’s website so I can get a discount, I did just that and just before making payment online I showed it to her, in case I make a mistake. (Price was £120 a night
Then strangely the website gave me an error, then the lady told me there’s nothing they can do and I can only book through her at £200 a night. This sounded really shady, I suspected they were manipulating it. So I did not want to book anymore rooms with them. (The lady also got a manager (not Mayank) to come, but he did nothing except standing there in silence)
SO I told the lady I will find another accommodation for myself. I left most of my stuff in my wife and kid’s room, one of my kid stayed with my brother who was staying alone.
Then we all went out for dinner and I left to meet my friend who kindly offered me accommodation for 3 nights.
then suddenly I got a call from my wife saying that they were locked out from the room and when they checked with the lady at reception they said it was locked because they suspect we were trying to squeeze in one room!!
I felt worried and unsafe for my family at this point and rushed to hotel via Uber. The receptionist lady told me the same story that it was locked because of “suspicious” activity.
This was ridiculous, I had already left and planed to stay with my friend. So we were not doing anything suspicious, we have 3 rooms and 6 guests!!!!
So I requested to speak to the manager, this time a different manager aka Mayan came. I explained what happened to the 1. suspicious change in room availability online and 2. how I felt they should not do that to my family and he replied in a snaky tone para phrasing because I don’t remember the exact word “I can only see what I see now” and he told a different “story” on why my family was locked up. He said it was because the card/lock ran out of battery and that they came to the room to look for us but we weren’t in. (Sounds like a total ******** and incoherent story)
So at this point I’m completely disappointed and worried about my family I told him politely that I will never stay in your hotels again if I were to visit the UK in future. He replied “your choice”
In the end I had to bite the bullet and booked the hotel next door (same owner) to stay close to my family because I fear for their safety.
So to everyone, especially those with children. Please do not stay here!!
(Imagine an adult with 3 kids and they will force the 2 children to stay in a room)
