Nice friendly B&B with a good location for hiking local peaks Skirrid & Sugar Loaf. Will provide a good packed lunch on request. There is a good pub located very close to the accommodation. Abergavenny has a range of decent eating places for an evening meal.

Perfect location for walking in Brecon Beacons (or Black Mountains), and excellent hospitality from Mike and Del, both from the point of view of the well-equipped rooms and also the breakfasts. Nothing was too much trouble - Deri-Down is a real home from home!

We stayed one night here whilst visiting Abergavenny for a hospital appointment in July. Our room was very spacious with a comfortable bed and ensuite facilities and plenty of wardrobe space. The included breakfast which was served in the small dining room downstairs was of a high standard and our hosts were a very welcoming couple. The only down side was that, at the time of our visit, there was no pub or restaurant nearby for an evening meal which necessitated a drive into town and or take away fish and chips!

Easy to find, easy to park, spotlessly clean and warm. Room was spacious and tastefully decorated. Large bed, huge bathroom with plenty of towels, toiletries and a really powerful shower and nice bath. Tv was wall mounted and there was a well stocked tea tray with fresh milk in a fridge. All the little things make the difference. Better than many hotels we’ve stayed in. Cooked breakfast was excellent; good quality food and also a great choice of cereal, fresh fruit, yoghurt etc. Can’t fault anything at all. Value for money and Abergavenny itself was also a lovely place to visit.

We stayed at the Deri down last night as we had a wedding party. We were welcomed by Michael. What a lovely host. The rooms are immaculate. The attention to detail is amazing. Had a lovely sleep. The shower was the best. Thank you for a lovely stay.

One of our best stays! The guest house is so well thought and cozy! The room we stayed in was clean and had this refreshing alpine fragrance to it! The bathroom had both shower and a tub, all sorts or of complimentary goodies. I can't think of anything to be missing! We totally recommend going for the breakfast - it is delicious! If you have a chance, play some boardgames as well. Mike and Del have a vibrant energy and the place is charming.

Stayed one night had wedding at Sugar Loaf barn, beautiful well kept rooms with everything you could want provided. We opted for breakfast which was cooked perfectly, highly recommend & Mike took us to pick our car up as wedding location is quite remote. Abergavenny is perfect little market town if you like a mooch around & stunning scenery .

A lovely place to stay, the room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast excellent. The welcome and the service provided by the hosts just perfect, they leave you alone but always on hand for advice re walks, pubs etc. we’ll definitely come back here !

Deri-Down is a really excellent option for staying in Abergavenny, which can be a pricey place to stay. Room 1 is a very generous size with huge storage space which would suit a longer stay. The facilities of room and bathroom are comprehensive, modern and thoughtful - including a small fridge with complimentary water and fresh milk - a surprisingly rare feature in B&Bs but always a sign of class! Excellent bathroom with both bath and walk-in power shower. Very good breakfast and as there are only two rooms, no waiting. Very friendly hosts. Very well priced - you would pay double for hotel accommodation of this standard in this area.

This place is an absolute gem. Was visiting to attend a wedding nearby. Fantastic large room with all the bits and pieces you’d expect from a 4 star hotel but far more quaint and at a fraction of the cost. Hosts were great - very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was good value for money and delicious - loads of choice. Would thoroughly recommend staying here and would love to go back.

My wife and I (60+) spent a night at Deri-Down guest house. The best B&B experience of our 3 week trip. Room fitted out to 5 star standard. Spacious room and bathroom. Unbelievable. Mike is the perfect host. Don't miss out!

Wow what lovely friendly amazing hosts. Bed and bedding so comfy. Shower was brilliant. Room spotless. Beautiful surroundings. Yummy breakfasts. Thank you again for your hospitality. We will be visiting again in the summer.

Was a touch hard to find at first, but overall, such a lovely place! A huge bedroom, with tea making facilities and a gorgeous bathroom with a lovely tub. Wish I'd stayed longer to enjoy that. A little further out of downtown, but good food choices nearby. Excellent hosts and quiet neighbourhood (even though on a major street).

Had a great stay here. We couldn't find it, as drove straight pass it (Satnav) but was expertly guided there by Mike, who was really friendly and helpful during our one night there. As stated in other reviews, choice of breakfasts was great, we had the light one, room very clean and comfy and the Wifi was strong in the room. Loved the added little extras, biscuits and hot drinks provided with fresh milk and not the uht stuff and the toiletries in the bathroom too - am still using the pulse-point relax roller ball ! Close enough to walk into Abergavenny, all down hill, but you need to come back up it but we managed to find a slightly longer but easier back up.! In fact, wish we had stayed there longer and will defo be back.
