We're excited that it finally re-opened. Here's our review:
ROOM
Our first room was okay, but the filter of aircon is dirty so we had the staff cleaned it. next, we would like to go out to swim but their SDB was not fixed in the cabinet so we dont think how was that "SAFE" knowing that it can be removed. so we just let it pass. then going back after our dip in the pool, we took a shower, but voila! the drainage doesnt drain at all 😂 so we decided to request to transfer to another room. so on the next room, as you enter, you will smell that it was not used for a period of time. the carpet was dusty, you can feel it on your feet. in this room, aircon and bathroom are now okay.
RESTAURANT
Volcanic Grill - before it was so nice to lounge here because of the food, but during our stay, the food was limited and there is no meat to grill 😅 how was that called volcanic grill? we ordered other food, and tbh, it's delicious and big serving.
Breakfast - Since it is a weekday, we expect that it is not buffet, the food are not the same as before but it is still sumptious. we enjoyed our breakfast.
POOL
Of course, the hotel has the best view of Mayon. Nothing else to say, just look at the photo.
SERVICE
The staff are all respectful.
PRICE
It is a bit pricey given, they should have lower the price first to gain clients.

This hotel os at least 5-star. This is the best hotel I have stayed here in Legazpi City, Albay.

Staff is very accommodating, spa massage is OK too, although the spa should not have 75min services if they have clients appointed every hour so you just have to select from their 1 hour services

For the amenities, we have everything that you need in the comfort room, there is a coffee - tea making facility, cable-TV and so on. Also, we offer breakfast buffet for our guests. My Wife and I had a wonderful time at the Oriental Hotel Legazpi. Beautiful location, Kind staff, and a fantastic way to visit the active volcano in Legazpi, Philippines, Mt Mayon… One evening during dinner there were dancers that entertained us.. My wife loved the costumes and went on and on talking about the performance. I particularly loved the bamboo dance.. One particular employee went out of his way to greet us at dinner each night, and make our stay memorable.. He seemed so happy to see us… Richard Masinda Percalin. .. nice young man A very special 3 days visiting Legazpi, Philippines…

For $210 per day, sadly disappointed. Overrated, slow service, quality of food did not meet expectations. Aside from view, hotel had little to offer. Checked out earlier than planned. Think twice before booking this hotel. There’s other nicer cheaper hotels in Legazpi.

We booked the executive suite with Mayon view for two nights, first week of January. The room was spacious and clean. But for some reason, the toilets smelled like dead rat most of the time. I had to deodorize it by spreading some ground instant coffee. The beds were so hard. Even in their spa! The staff were lukewarm and unhelpful (most of them). When we arrived, nobody even helped us to carry our luggage up the entrance stairs. We did not know about the back area where there were yes stairs. That would have been helpful info before check-in. The breakfast and restaurant food ranged from so-so to terrible. We once ordered some chicken for apéro at the bar. It was served more than an hour later. The food tasted so bland. The cocktails lack imagination and tasted like cough syrup. And to our surprise, the price of the food item conveniently changed upon payment. Apparently, the menu that was given to us was not updated. This hotel is a nightmare. For the price that we paid, definitely NOT WORTH IT!

Found the Oriental Legazpi to be an excellent hotel. The service was impeccable. My room was large clean and comfortable. The views of the Mayan Volcano, Legazpi and the ocean from my room were stunning . The meals at the Imperial and the Cafe were wonderful. I stayed at the Oriental for 2 happy weeks.

Experience 1 - Buffet on a Wednesday - my friend found a cockroach in one of the designs near the food area while I found another cockroach near the dessert area. Experience 2 - My birthday - Menu said "beef kare kare" When it was actually "beef tripe kare kare" with a terrible taste and very little serving for a price of Php600 plus I think. Deceiving. Super not worth it.

Booked a room with the Mayon Volcano view and paid for this request, but we were given a room with the grill restaurant directly outside the balcony hence not very appealling. Small bottled water are priced at Php50, this should be complimentary in the rooms considering the expensive room rate. Kids breakfast was charged at Php450 per plate and my children barely touched the food. Most hotels offer this on comp for children below 7 years old. Rooms. Location and Guest Service are good enough.

This hotel prides as a “4- star” hotel in Legazpi City however it needs to improve in so many areas. Almost everything is purely business, taking every opportunities to make profit rather than delivering seamless guest experience. The only saving grace is the staff for their hospitality mindset. FO Raymark, Cora or Nora, Concierge guy, housekeeping and guards were all customer focused except for the night duty lady(I didn’t manage to get the name) who went all by the book. If not for most of the staff who were always nice and welcoming, it would’ve been 0 star. Pros: 1. View 2. Most staff are customer-focused Cons: 1. Rooms are not properly cleaned. Yellowish toilet, dirty shower room grouting, musky smelled room carpet, blood stained blanket insert, hard pillows, general cleanliness 2. Breakfast- totally let down. Only had breakfast 2 times during our stay. 1st- buffet breakfast served but very limited option. 2nd- plated bfast- again limited option. It is best to have breakfast from carenderia. 3. Corkage fee for outside food brought in to room- another profit opportunity. I was not charged after talking to the staff how corkage fee should work. 4. Charge for almost every extra item.- P50 for extra pillow, P75/extra pair of slippers, P50/btl of extra water. If you are charging high on your room rate these extra items should already been free. Paid P33K for 4 nights. 5. Restaurant- inquired for lunch on our last day but shocked to know that only available is chicken and pasta. Staff however offered coffee and pastries are also available. 6. Corridor carpet needs dire cleaning. It smelled urine!! Placing air freshener is not the solution 7. With covid still on the rise, cleaning and hygiene must be on top. Housekeeper are not using any cleaning chemicals when cleaning the room. Observed this for 2 different occasions from 2 different housekeepers. 8. Room carpet is not vacuumed. Housekeeper only uses broom and dustpan. Overall, the management should review most of the policies if they want to standout or better pose as 1 star hotel.

The hotel has an amazing view of the city and the Mayon Volcano. The staff are friendly and polite. However, we were very disappointed on the service time as we waited for more than an hour for our food. IT HAPPENED twice. I hope the management will take action on this as it spoils the experience of the customers.
