"We had booked this room by phone for 3 nights, at a total price of €80. On the first day, due to a slight delay, we arrived for check-in at around 8:00 PM and unfortunately what we saw had nothing to do with the photos of the accommodation. The bathroom was visibly dirty, with rust everywhere, while the shower curtain was so dirty that you could not actually take a bath. At the same time, it was very short, resulting in water coming out of the shower. In fact, there was even a used sponge from a previous guest hanging in the shower. There were dead insects on the walls, while there were a large number of ants on the kitchen counter. We immediately called the owner to inform him. Unfortunately, his treatment was particularly disappointing. He told us that "this happens", that he would inform the caretaker to come and see the situation and that, if we were not happy, we could leave, even claiming that we were not going to find anything else for the same price. The caretaker finally came and was very kind and willing to help. He assured us that he would replace the shower curtain with a new one. However, in the end, it was simply replaced with another used one, which was in somewhat better condition. What bothered us the most, besides the unacceptable condition of the room, was the attitude of the owner. Instead of showing understanding for a completely justified complaint, he was irritated because we called him to point out that the room was in very poor condition compared to what we paid. Unfortunately, the room did not meet the photos and expectations created by the advertisement in any way. It was by far the worst room we have ever visited. Honestly, if you have any other option, even staying in a tent, choose it. We wouldn't recommend it to anyone."

"While the amenities and aesthetics of this resort look inviting, the customer experience is extremely poor. Upon checking into our room, we found that it hadn’t even been made with the previous occupant’s sheets, towel and rubbish still everywhere. On our last day, housekeeping rang the doorbell and came in at 9.50am without us opening the door for them, even though the Do Not Disturb sign was on. This was a gross invasion of privacy and disturbing to know that they are just walking into rooms uninvited. They wanted to begin turning over the room even though we had not checked out, and still had until 11am to do so. Not one apology or acknowledgment from anyone on front desk for these incidents. Definitely an instagram vs. reality resort, with money better spent elsewhere."

"We have just spent ten days staying in this lovely little hotel. Our room (No 2) was ideal for us. On a corner, first floor, with double doors on two sides onto a nice balcony overlooking the pool. It has a basin, fridge, some plates/cutlery and a kettle etc so morning tea and home-made lunch in the room is perfect. Supermarket nearby. Bed comfortable and large. Towels and linen changed regularly. Room always made up daily. The bathroom is small but ok with shower, basin and toilet. Breakfast is a nice selection of food and the joy is to take the breakfast tray into the garden. The garden is delightful with lots of colourful flowers, shrubs and trees. We chose the hotel for the garden pictures and we were not disappointed. The pool is not large and not deep but ideal for a dip and a little swim to cool off. Plenty of chairs/beds round the pool. Only two large umbrellas but also shade from the trees around the pool. The hotel provides a pool towel for you. The staff are charming (Roula and Angela). Always a smile. A short walk to a couple of good tavernas. Also a short walk to the seafront where you can walk along to the centre of Lygia. Along the way you will find some very good tavernas on the waterside - perfect for an evening meal. And not frightfully expensive. There is plenty of parking for those with hire cars but we use buses and the bus stop is very close to the hotel. Lefkada is only about 10 minutes by bus, Nidri maybe 15/20 minutes. Overall our stay was great and we'd thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a quiet, relaxed holiday. Thank you to all at Avra Hotel."
