So disappointing. Black mould in bathroom, shower hopelessnes, broken toilet window that could not be closed, broken floor tiles, some lights with no bulbs. When we complained they really couldn’t care less. Food disappointing as well. An expensive disaster.

I adore the Hotel Alain Llorca! This is my second visit to this gorgeous hotel, and I hope to become a regular visitor. I was again greeted by Benoit, who had welcomed me my first visit to the hotel. He was again absolutely amazing-his customer service is truly outstanding. I can recognize excellent customer service, as I am in customer service with the airlines, and his attention to the customer is truly genuine. This was my husband’s first visit to the hotel, and he was so overwhelmed with the beauty of the hotel, and its landscape. It is absolutely a gorgeous property. The rooms are beautiful, and the huge tub is such a bonus! It is a great way to relax after traveling from the states. We sat on the terrace and had drinks with a beautiful view of St Paul de Vence. There is an amazing Michelin star restaurant, which I ate at the last visit. We can’t wait to return to eat at this amazing restaurant again. I truly am filled with gratitude to have found this gem of a hotel, with an amazing staff who make you feel so welcome and at home. I cannot wait to return!

Alain Lorca Make no mistake, this is a restaurant with rooms - NOT a hotel. That’s very important as we found out. Firstly, the staff are lovely, helpful people - absolutely no complaints there. The restaurant is a one trick pony with excellent (very expensive) food as you’d expect from a Michelin one star, served on a terrace with stunning views. However, if you’re staying there, it’s not something to do each night, leastways not for us. And here’s the disconnect. Treat the room like an AirBnB -supermarket for salads and meat in the evenings in your own room. The hotel side however, needs much improvement. Please bear in mind my criticisms are judged against a standard that should be for a eu250/night room. Some gripes:- no help was offered to carry our bags to our room up the steep slope from the car park despite being accompanied by a member of staff, so we struggled with our 5 bags; there is no hotel bar to relax in prior or post meal; laundry not ready in 24hrs as described- the Air con was not turned on to pre cool our room which was pretty hot -32deg,there was no milk in the room ;plus many more

Great stay at Hotel Alain Llorca. We stayed for three nights. Our suite was large, luxurious and very comfortable, with terrific views of St Paul de Vence and the surrounding area. The property is maintained in beautiful condition and dinner at the hotel was delicious (although a little pricey). Definitely recommend this property.

Hotel Alain Llorca is an absolutely amazing beautiful hotel right outside of the village of Saint-Paul De-Vence. I am so very grateful to have found this lovely property. From the moment I arrived I was warmly greeted by Benoit, whose customer service was outstanding. When he brought me to my room, I was overwhelmed by its beauty, and the view was beyond my expectations. I truly felt like I had died and gone to heaven. I then had dinner at their outstanding Michelin star restaurant, and the food and service was incredible. I cannot say enough about how outstanding the service was from Sylvia, Benoit, Claudia, Jasmine, and Sebastian, and all employees. They truly made you feel so welcome and at home. I cannot wait to return next year!

The location and views over St Paul de Vence are just stunning. Truly spacious suite with all the amenities in an authentic warm Provençal design. Both low key and high end, great linen, immaculately clean, tiptop in-room coffee & amenities, perfectly furnished outdoor terrace with magical views. I did indulge in the in-door Jacuzzi rather than the pool in November! The breakfast (which I usually don’t take except for an espresso) was, well, to die for. Alain Llorca’s adjoining 1 Michelin star restaurant is reviewed separately – don’t miss the chance to live something really special… A perfect choice for a few nights in l’arrière pays, if you enjoy what’s good in life!

the toilets downstairs both male and female are not clean and one basin was clocked up and the door in the male toilet was not working. Not a great experience and there is a need for more discipline among the serving staff

Alain Lorca is a peaceful beautiful location in the “back-country/arrière pays” of Nice one or two kilometers away from the hills of Saint-paul-de-Vence. The hotel has a Michelin starred restaurant: i had a standard daily three course lunch but was surprised at the long wait time. The food was acceptable. The staff was friendly, our room was very large and beautifully decorated in a Provençal style. The cleaning service could be slightly improved. The hotel is nestled across Saint-Paul-de-Vence so you are spoiled with a beautiful view. Within walking distance, there is not much Comercial activity (aside from other hotels or restaurant nearby so you will need an 8 minute drive by Uber or a cab to get to any sort of shopping or other convenience facility). The Maegt art foundation is almost within walking distance. Beware of expensive cab rides.

We arrived with a stopover from Germany and were thrilled with this hotel right from the first moment. Everyone was extremely friendly, whether it was the staff at the reception, the waiters in the restaurant or at the breakfast service or even the guests, who were well balanced on this small estate and you never had the impression that there are other guests at all. Accordingly, after a day trip you always had the feeling to come back to the made nest and spend the evening either in the house's own star restaurant or simply with a glass of wine on the balcony with the view over the city. The rooms are spacious and the bathroom was huge, especially by French standards. In summary, we can say that we can recommend this small hotel with excellent service without exception. If there was one little thing we could wish for, it would be - in addition to the excellent menu - a tapas menu, so that you could end the evenings on your balcony with a few small bites.

Cant really comment on the restaurant. My wife and I planned to stay here for two nights (Monday and Tuesday) and unbeknownst to us the kitchen in this resort hotel is closed on both nights throughout the whole year. This information was not available on their website. Hence, we were directed by the front desk to seek dinners up in the old village of St.Paul de Vence. The only meal served at the hotel restaurant was continental breakfast. Interestingly, the hotel/restaurant held on both evenings (Monday and Tuesday) local celebrations ie. wedding party and/or birthday party with laud music and singing until late into the night.

Having spent eight nights there very recently, we view this Hotel Restaurant as actually being two separate entities, with the hotel accommodation being a poor second, sheltering in the reflected glow of the restaurant and its Michelin starred food. Tellingly, on our return to the UK the Hotel Restaurant wrote and asked us to comment on our experience ….but they provided two separate links - one for the food and one for the hotel accommodation, confirming to us that they see them not as one unity but two separate parts …with differing standards. They urged us to complete their questionnaire, as they are … “intending to make big changes over the next three years”. I hope the hotel side of things is specifically included in those plans. We had a deluxe suite. Do please check their website section on rooms and you will spot that the room’s furniture includes a settee. However, we only had three small, uncomfortable upright chairs (“style Van Gogh” as my wife said to the Italian lady on Reception) to sit on. When we thus enquired, we were told that new furniture had been ordered but had not arrived. So, to relax and read a book - especially during the storm and heavy rain last Tuesday - we had to sit on the bed or sit outside on the (very narrow) balcony in the heat. As to a warm welcome, we arrived early and our room was not yet ready: fair enough. So we were directed to sit on the grass on deck chairs for two hours under a sun umbrella - which was lucky as the heavens opened up that Friday afternoon and it rained hard. But … there was no “…please come into the restaurant and wait in comfort” or “…might we get you a coffee” or “..do you need to use the facilities? We were simply left there. So we sat in the rain until 3pm when our room was handed over. And again, there was no “..can we help you carry 40kg of luggage from the car park and up a very steep set of stairs to the room?”. We just got on with it ourselves, pleased to get in to our room and out of the rain, only to find there were no sets of the usual complimentary sets of slippers left for us, the fridge was dirty, there were two tiny bottles of water, half the usual coffee capsules left us, dirty cups and saucers, empty tubes of shampoo/ shower liquids and so on. **We spoke with “management” and a young man from Reception came and listened to us [my wife is more than just fluent in French - she is constantly assumed to be French], he agreed that the room was not as it should be, went away and chased up the room cleaner. The cups and other bits were then sorted by the cleaner, the excuse being that it was raining and she was in a hurry. Management came back with a small peace offering - a large bottle of cold water..very welcome …but several euros (eight euros) quietly charged to our account , we noted at the end of the week. What an amazing place. Close to St Paul de Vence this Hotel is fabulous. The room we had was stunning with a large balcony looking down the valley and up to St Paul de Vence. Eating breakfast on the (covered) terrace is such a treat. We had a lunch and a dinner during our stay. The food is wonderful and it’s easy to see why it has the accolades it does. The staff are fantastic. The whole experience was a real treat. We will definitely be going back, hopefully many times.

Some of the nicest personnel we have met in our travels. Our room was absolutely delightful and spotless. The room service breakfast was spectacular (baked apples? one morning). Dinner in the lovely dining room was perfection with some of the friendliest wait staff we have encountered. The only negative is the steep climb from the hotel area to the lobby and dining room. There is no railing on the stairway and the descent is somewhat treacherous after dark with minimal lighting. Otherwise, perfect. Wish we had never left.

Lovely large room with all amenities as well as a little garden area of our own. We had a dog with us and there were bowls in the room upon arrival for him one filled with water. There was even a paw print by the garden door in the floor. We did have our 13 year old son with us and it was a pull out sofa bed for him which wasn't very comfortable. Otherwise the stay was lovely, and very relaxing.

Notre séjour à l’hôtel Alain Llorca a pris une tournure inattendue. Après une nuit agréable, nous avons malheureusement fait tomber une bouteille de vin rouge, ce qui a inévitablement causé quelques taches. Conscients du désagrément, nous avons immédiatement signalé l’incident à la réception en présentant nos excuses, pensant, naïvement, que l’erreur était humaine. Quelle ne fut pas notre surprise de recevoir un appel de Mme Llorca elle-même, non pas pour faire preuve de compréhension ou de professionnalisme, mais pour nous réprimander d’un ton peu amène, allant jusqu’à parler de "carnage" – un terme pour le moins excessif. Tout cela venant d’une personne qui nous avait accueillis en tenue de sport, ce qui, soit dit en passant, ne correspond pas vraiment aux standards que l’on pourrait attendre d’un hôtel affichant quatre étoiles. Il est dommage qu’un établissement de cette catégorie, qui se veut raffiné, oublie que l’élégance ne réside pas seulement dans la décoration, mais aussi et surtout dans le savoir-être. Abat-jour 150€ , l'erreur devient chère...
