the hotel is amazing with a relaxed atmosphere. we also went to the onsen every day, it was great! the rooms are lovely, there was enough space for two of us. they also kindly provided us with a foot massager, which was great after being on our feet all day. i liked the staff, although they didn't always speak english. also the pillows seemed hard, but it didn't spoil our overall experience at the hotel

Location is perfect, in between the two honganji, the interior looks great, the restaurant breakfast tastes great too. Staffs are friendly and helpful. I have been arranged to a G/F room and unfortunately the windows of the room cant be opened, so it feels like living in a basement, and with the compact size of the room, its a bit depressing

Loved the hotel ambience and amenities provided! Washing machines and public bath is available at basement level. Free drinks area also provided daily in the restaurant. Rooms are nice and comfortable. Hotel is 15-20 minutes walk form JR Kyoto station.

Honestly I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. First of all the room is tiny. It's so small that you will have trouble to open your luggage fully. I travel to Japan 2-3 times a year for holiday and this is definitely one of the smallest one I ever stayed. Location wise although it seems like it is close to Kyoto station but still 15-20min walk and there is no train station nearby. So the main transportation will be either bus or taxi.

The theme and decor is superb, genuine taste of Japan. A few minutes from many transport options makes it a great location for getting around. The local area is authentic Japanese with many eating options.

Worthy to stay . Hidden hotel, highly recommended

I recently stay at your hotel through Trip.com, and I’d like to share some feedback regarding the booking process. While the staff were very nice and helpful, I encountered an issue with the payment. After paying for the room charge, I received a confirmation email that mentioned a pre-authorization, which was not clearly stated beforehand. This led to confusion, as it appeared that I would need to temporarily allocate double the amount. I kindly suggest that this information be made more transparent in the booking process, either on the Trip.com platform or directly on your website, to avoid any similar confusion for future guests.

Hotel Tou is about 15 mins walk from jr station in a quiet area. It is stylish and chill, staffs are helpful and polite. Everything is good only if the room can be just a tiny bit bigger than it would’ve been perfect. I would love to stay at Tou again for my next visit .

Great stay. It’s a very modern and chic hotel but with traditional Japanese touch.

ROOM: Stayed in a regular room with 1 queen sized bed, must mentioned -the bathroom is tiny (think airplane toilet with a tub) guess its ok for solo travelers SPA: hours of op eithe early am or mid-afternoon to late evening SERVICE: Though there is a front desk with staff, they are not doing the check-in (this is done on an machine) Also, there are no phones to ring to the front for any sort of real hotel service. Don't expect flexibility in check-in/out times at a place like this. LOCATION: Not too much in the surrounding areas, but it isnt too far of a walk to populated areas.

Great hotel, the room is a bit small but service is great. Quite a walking distance to Kyoto city centre (around 2km walking distance)
