Good hotel, bad breakfast. A very random assortment of food. Brocolli with chicken and salad but no normal bread, only weird pestobread. They didn't even had bad american bread or a croissant or yoghurt, but still say you offer continental and western breakfast ?!??!? The room was good and clean, the windows were stickered, so we couldn't look outside. It felt restricted

Very Clean and extremely convenient, considered transportation network of Kyoto is not as diverse as other major cities in Japan, you can explore the city on foot or by bus, for which the bus stop sited literally right next to the hotel. You can travel to the hotel from Kyoto station by bus or taxi, which takes only 10 mins by taxi. Very helpful and cheerful staff. Overall a pleasant stay

The location is extremely strategy and its walking distance to nearby attractions such as sanjo and shijo dori.

Great location, friendly stuff and clean rooms. That will be it. Cleaning service is available only for people staying 4 nights and longer (in general it’s okay, but comparing to the other hotels may be a bit disappointing). Breakfast is truly upsetting, it’s worth it’s price, dirty counters, sticky trays, poor choice (usually hotels of such kind offer a choice of ordinary food for those who are not ready to eat local dishes, but there were no eggs or something basic of this kind. That’s why we skipped out paid breakfasts several times) Truly crowded location, long waiting time for the elevator, no opportunity to use laundry because there only two washing machines)

Overall it was a great stay. Good location and accessible via bus/train to various tourist attractions. The staff are very accomodating as well.

Smack right in the middle of the busy streets of Kyoto. There are shops and food stalls everywhere within walking distance. The train lines too. Staff are friendly and greeted us well when we came in. The place looks nice and has a little Japanese vibe. The rooms were a little small though, so don’t expect too much

Centrally Located with a Few Drawbacks Travel Lodge is located on a shopping street with plenty of places to eat nearby. It’s also within walking distance of Gion, making it a great base for exploring. The location offers easy access to both bus and metro lines, making transportation convenient, and it’s not a far walk to reach either option. They also provide luggage storage, which is helpful. However, be aware that rooms are only cleaned every 4th day, so if you’re staying fewer than four nights (like we did), you won’t have a clean room and you’ll need to grab supplies and exchange towels at the main desk. The hotel breakfast, served at a neighboring restaurant, was a bit of a letdown. It mainly consisted of bread and some oily sides, though the coffee and drink options were good. The room itself was typical for a Japanese hotel—compact, but clean, with a hot shower. Despite the small size, after a long day of walking, you’ll sleep fine! Just keep in mind that check-in is at 3 PM, and check-out is at 10 AM, so plan accordingly!

The rooms are compact but clean and well-equipped with everything needed for a short stay. Despite the smaller size, the layout is efficient, and the beds are comfortable. What really stood out was the friendly and helpful staff. They were always welcoming and ready to assist with directions. Highly recommended for budget-conscious travelers!

This hotel was very good budget option. The location is great, close to restaurants and pretty ideal for shopping. The bus stops are close at hand and subway is close at hand. The money-reward ratio is good. I didn´t like that they do not do cleaning for any rooms with stays shorter than 4 nights - they don´t even take out the trash - which I missed and which tends to acumulate if you stay for 3 nights as we did. Also beware of the corner rooms - this might mean that one of your walls is a corridor wall and the room might be a bit noisy. The hotel gives you an option to indicate that you don´t want this kind of room. I´ve said I didn´t mind corner room, got one, and it didn´t bother us, besides one morning when the housekeeping hit our corridor wall with some trolley. But if this might sorry you, watch out for the cornier room. But otherwise fine. For the money I really am not complaining. Generally speaking I was quite happy with the hotel.

Very very accessible as this is very much near or 5 minute walk to Gion District & Nishiki Market with its rotating sushi restaurant. Buses ply regularly infront of our hotel. The famous Tatami-Floored Starbucks & the Ninenzaka Old Streets are within walking distance of 30 minutes. Department stores (Uniqlo, BAL) lined up on both sides of Shijo Kawaramachi stretch where Travelodge is located. Grocery, convenience, fast food, drugstore are just around the corner. Our small room is just as comfortable as the bath works high tech & neat. It has its own pasta resto filled up almost all the time. 5-minute walk to train stations & 3-minute walk to nearest bus stop. Location is very convenient. Worth the money.

The location is great and convenient. Easy to check in and check out. Room is tidy and clean. Would recommend.
