You need to contact the hotel in order to take the free shuttle from airport to hotel. The process was okay and we got picked up promptly. Location was about 20 minutes bus ride from airport. Checkin was fast. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. We booked the early transport to the airport the following day and the ride was smooth. There were some restaurants and a big supermarket nearby. Other than that, dont expect too much from the area. Overall, i have a pleasant stay.

The rooms are very nice and clean. The hotel is located right next to a night market and close to the Kunming South train station. Breakfast has a lot of food options, though I wish they was coffee available. The ”gym” is just a stationary bike and a treadmill. Some weights would be nice, but if you don't mind this (and the coffee), the hotel is perfect for an overnight stay in Kunming.

Ibis hotel is close the 3 train stations which make it easy to travel around. I was greeted by the receptionist and offered a great breakfast deal. Free welcome drink, biscuits while waiting for check- in. Besides, the hotel provides free self service laundry that is convenient for those who travel light.
