Koyao Island Resort

Just checked out from an amazing 3-night stay at Koyao Island Resort. I studied islands near Phuket for weeks before the trip as I knew I wanted to get away. This resort is not cheap, but I think it was an amazing value, and WAY less expensive than some of the 5-star places I looked at. The resort is made up of 15 individual villas set off from a central area with reception, restaurant, bar and spa. Everything open-air and beautifully designed and executed. Walking the grounds at night was magical—so much attention put into the landscaping and lighting. Wildlife abounds, we saw dozens of Hornbills, and a three-foot monitor lizard strolled by as we were leaving the room this morning. The food is excellent—-also pricey for Thailand but perfectly prepared, and a wonderful daily breakfast buffet is included with the room. The staff were wonderful and attentive to everything. All the villas are steps from the sea, with a soft sand beach with incredible views of Pha Gna Bay. I’ll likely reserve a week for next year before I leave the country. I think this is the place where I want to get old.

Really good experience very fun time with family my son really enjoyed the privacy of the hotel and not alot of people in the resort, the villa was extremly pleasant and had a nice view of the beach if chose the right room, very good access to the beach and its one of the best resort available in ko yao at a very reasonable price. Highly reccomend

We eloped and had our ceremony at 9 hornbills because of the beautiful views and the serenity this place offers. The tent has an AC above the bed so we were very comfortable at night. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. The restaurant at the resort below is shared, and offers delicious food and drinks. We would absolutely recommend this place to anyone who wants to feel that they are in true paradise, and who has some sense of adventure. The best of both luxury and adventure. The views are exceptional. The interior, furniture, and styling of 9 hornbills tents is quite lovely as well.

We had an amazing experience at this wonderful resort since the moment we arrived. We traveled with another couple. The Resort arranged our pick up from the hotel we stayed in Phuket , and took us to the marina for the transfer in a long boat directly to the beach in front of the resort. The cabin was exactly as described in their web page. The view from our cabin was beautiful, we could see the gorgeous bay in front of us with the impressive mountains. The Resort was quiet and relaxing. And all the staff were super cordial and friendly. Piano was in charge, coordinating everything to our satisfaction. What an amazing manager, always super diligent with a smile on her face ! Soot was in the restaurant and bar overseeing to all our wishes, and giving us tips. The rest of the staff was super nice, respectful and friendly. We never saw the cleaning crew and everything was clean and fresh around the resort and in our cabin. We had an amazing shower area outdoors. It was great! The only thing to be aware is there is not a key when you are out of your room. The cabin stays open. They have safes in each cabin thought. But we felt like we were visiting friends, safe, happy and relax. Because we were there in low season there were not too many guests. We were lucky because there was not rain, at least during the day. All the ladies in the spa were great. Our friends and us had massages every day. It was awesome!! We ate at the Resort restaurant every day except one night that we went to a local restaurant. The food was delicious. Some of our favorite was the local fish and the papaya salad. We tried almost everything in the menu. We rented a Motorbike with side car and did drive around the island. Everybody is so nice around this small island. We visited the market to get some of the great sauces and local spices recommended by the restaurant chef at the resort. We did some shopping to get souvenirs and had a blast taking pictures and driving around. Piano offered us the amazing experience of stay our last night at their glamping area in the mountain. It was a beautiful luxury tent with incredible views to the bay and a private pool. We loved it! We would love to visit again. We stayed with our familie of 5 and just had a wonderful time. We hired a family villa. The villa’s are phenomenal, with outside shower area behind the villa. Beds are comfy. I read reviews with people complaining about not getting the beachfront villa….. seriously?? People, remember where you are, look around you. There not a villa in a bad spot, all of them are facing the amazing sea. Also some people complaining about bugs…… just stay home, don’t travel to Asia. We loved it, super relaxed, food was good. The resort staff is just so lovely and helpful. The owners where there during our stay, lovely people.

Just returned after 5 days at this little gem in Thailand. From the moment we arrived we were met by most helpful staff who could not do enough to please. We had a delightful well appointed bungalow within 50m of the sea with uninterrupted views of the sea and islands. Caroline and Mederic were the resort managers with Mederic, trained in Michelin star restaurants, heading up the catering. His expertise certainly showed with a fantastic sunset meal in the Tent up the hill behind the resort that lived up to his Michelin training!! We had trips to the islands in a longtail boat to ourselves with swimming, snorkelling and picnic. In all an excellent holiday that lived upto and beyond our expectations!!
