"Super family run hotel, with commanding views of Agia Pelagia and the coast line of northern Kythira. The hotel is spotlessly clean and though we never used it, has a wonderful swimming pool on a sunny terrace affording great views down to the town, the sea and coast. The breakfast buffet is of a high standard, with plenty of choice. And I purposely leave the best until last. My wife and I have visited Greece for over 40 years, and we say without doubt, that the beds at Kythea Resort are the best and most comfortable, by far, that we have experienced in all that time. The linen and comfort they afford is of the highest standard. Highly recommended hotel."

"Excellent experience! We stayed for 6 days and certainly we should have stayed more! The owners and the staff do their best to make clients feel at home. Full success and many thanks for their service. The hotel is perfectly clean. Besides it's well situated, very close to -maybe- the best beach of the island, the port but also to other interesting places to visit. I fully recommend it!"

"After the reservation and the confirmation communication we asked to know about the benefits and they informed us that it has air conditioning for three hours a day and that we can cool with fans. It's totally unacceptable in 2026 I don't care if he's allegedly trying to get to a hotel with an ecological fingerprint. I'm sure reading the reviews that it'll be a huge disappointment and my money will be lost. I'll come back after my visit."

"Stayed 9 days and wish it could have been longer. Extremely friendly, smiley and very helpful staff and owners. Anna and Spiros have the whole place running like clockwork and ensure that the guests come first. Special mention to Thomas the very jolly and chatty barman/waiter and special thanks Athena and Dimitrios on reception, excellent. The pool is great, the whole place is cleaned thoroughly all the time. We didn’t eat in the restaurant so can’t comment generally but we didn’t have a couple of club sandwiches which were excellent and a spaghetti carbonara …..served very professionally in our room. 10/10"

"An exceptional accommodation at Agia Pelagia, Cythera. Beach is on sight , only 100 metres away . Restaurants, shops just 250 metres away ( flat road ) . An immaculate preserved set of apartments, with a beautifully maintained garden, offering an elegant aesthetic balance sandwiched with a tranquil swimming pool that creates a feeling of privacy . From the arrival time, we were welcomed with a broad smile and a really warm hug from the owner Mrs Marianna and her assistant Ms Eleftheria ! We were escorted to our room . WOW !!!! What a beautiful room !!! How airy, plenty light , cool , smelling so beautiful , spotless clean , were taken away ! The quality of the furniture, the " philoxenia " logo on point , for the sheets , towels etc. The towels were elegantly fragranced and felt so soft . An amazing feeling ! Every amenity was in offer and available. Even the elegant, high quality of bath / shower products were available on abundance. Every single little detail has been given a thought. So impressive. " We are continuing to strive for better improvement " was Mrs Mariannas' thoughts. All the above created a beautiful ambience inside and outside the room. The breakfast was plentiful, suitable for all the tastes . The breakfast attendant Mrs Alexandra was eager to accommodate our special dietary preferences. Very happy with the breakfast. The overall location of the Filoxenia apartments is in a wonderful position of easily accessible amenities. Likewise the accommodation offers full disabled access. Everyone is doing it's duty . Overall, we were amazed with the quality of the accommodation, genuine hospitality and good value for money. Are we going to return ? Absolutely YES !!! Anyone who is thinking of a real memorable break, this is a highly recommended destination. Finally, a massive " thank you " to the staff for making our 3 nights stay memorable and comfortable."

"My wife and I first stayed here back in the noughties and have been visiting on and off ever since. I has become one of the regular places to which we return, having fallen a little in live with it, and knowing that we can rely on the placee and the people. The proprietor, Andreas, could not be friendlier or more helpful - for instance, he will help you get a hire car, with a discount. He is also an excellent, and reliable, guide to various places of interest across the island, including the best tavernas, etc. The apartments are always spotlessly clean (the cleaner came every day) and well appointed (very modern bathroom, unlike some places). the location is superb - two minutes walk from the sandy beach. There's a tiny mini market in Diakofti for vital supplies (wine/beer) and there is a classy beach cafe/bar and a refreshments hut at each end of the beach. Also there's Manoli's taverna, again, on the front, a further two mins walk from the main beach, which has a limited, but delicious menu, although it is a tad light on vegetarian options. Bear in mind Diakofti is a relatively quiet place, which is exactly what we're looking for, but if you want a party town, look elsewhere. It is a good base if you like hiking, and various routes are discretely marked around the Diakofti area and throughout the island (again, Andreas can advise on this). In the shoulder seasons, it can be blissfully deserted, but you're taking a chance weather-wise. On the other hand, in July/Aug the beach can get busy, but most people get the vibe and behave themselves, treating others respectfully. Very highly recommended. Dom Long, Cheltenham, UK."
