"It was exactly a secret hot water. There is no air conditioner in the room, it is not a washlet, but the whole is old, but the hot springs that boil directly from your feet made you feel the history of several hundred years. It smells of sulfur, and the skin becomes smooth and wonderful as a hot spring. The starry sky at night was so great that I could see the Milky Way in autumn."

"This place is really in a remote location. Even when you walk to the street, it's very quiet. It takes about 10 minutes to find a Rosun convenience store. Sigh! If you want to stay at a Toyoko Inn, you should choose a larger city center; the value for money will be better!"

"The hotel is conveniently located in the city center, with many restaurants nearby, including yakiniku (grilled meat), ramen shops, and izakayas (Japanese pubs). The hotel has parking, but it's not free. There's a rooftop hot spring bath, but unfortunately, it's only for male guests on weekdays (Monday to Friday). Female guests can only use it during specific times on Saturdays and Sundays."

"The hotel is close to the east exit of Kitakami Station. You can park in the nearby parking lot by car. When you check in, you can get a parking coupon at the counter. You can use it when you exit the gate to enjoy free parking. It is very convenient for both driving and taking a car. The large bathhouse is a bit small but it is very good."

"Best trip and room"

"Shoes were taken off at the door and the hotel has a policy of ‘socks or bare feet’, which was fine by us. Socks were supplied in the room, if you didn’t want to wear your own. The hotel is a bit of a maze but we were guided personally to our rooms, and staff made sure that we had everything that we needed. The room was a new experience for us, with tatami mats set up with a table and chairs when we arrived and then converted for sleeping with futon mattresses. Unfortunately, I’m rather taller than your average ryokan guest and so spilled over the edges of the mattress. The small pillows (filled with buckwheat?) were also a bit of a challenge. Facilities in the room include a sink and a toilet but no shower. This is zero problem because there is a huge choice of different onsens, all of which are excellent. Traditional dinners and breakfasts were served in the dining room; huge feasts of small dishes, all beautifully presented. I suspect that I made many gaffs in the manner in which I ate everything but I thoroughly enjoyed it all. We also very much enjoyed the cultural dance show, and making use of the karaoke room! Thank you to all the staff who made us all feel so special and introduced us (gently) to the ryokan concept."

"Best of all, check-out was possible until 12 noon, which was great since I had checked in late the previous day and had nothing to do the next morning. The facilities and amenities were well-prepared and impeccable. The staff were also very helpful."
