Overall the experience was good, but the hotel is a bit dated, furniture looked antique. Sound-proofing wasn't so good. View was good.

Amazing view! room is an old design but bathroom is newly renovated. Bed is very comfy, we slept well bc of the quietness of being on the mountain. My kids enjoyed the pool and exploring the lake.

Review for Grand Hotel Kaohsiung, Taiwan Our stay at Grand Hotel Kaohsiung was fantastic! We only stayed for one night, so we did not get a chance to try the food, but everything else was perfect. The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and well-lit. The beds were super comfy, and the TV was big enough for a relaxing night in. The highlight was definitely our stunning lake view from the balcony—it was such a peaceful and beautiful sight. The automatic toilet seat was a nice touch, though the bidet function was a bit weak and lacked hot water. Also, it would have been nice to have complimentary water bottles in the room. Overall, a wonderful stay, and we would love to return for a longer visit!

Great experience with the hotel stay. We surely will come back to stay at this hotel again.

They don’t heat up the swimming pool during winter. Taiwan is not like the UK famous for bad weather but people still wear jackets and coats during winter that water was cold. Cannot believe this is 5 star hotel standard.

Amazing room and view!!! If I have a chance to visit Kaoshuing again, I will probably choose the grand hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful, they speak English very well. The hotel provides the Chinese custom for guess to where and take a picture with the hotel view.

The location of the Grand Hotel Kaohsiung is better than the location of the Grand Hotel Taipei. Also, the view from the guest room at this hotel was better than the one that my parents got when staying at the Grand Hotel Taipei. The view at the Grand Hotel Kaohsiung faces the front of the hotel with trees and the water fountain. The view at the Grand Hotel Taipei was the parking lot. The subway is a bit far from the hotel. The room was quite big and the price was fine. Also, the room was clean and tidy.

Not a new hotel but it’s very beautiful. The nature view will never get old. Rooms are spacious. Perfect for a holiday.

Nice lake view from hotel room

Having stayed at both Grand Hotels in Taipei and Kaohsiung, the Taipei location is hands down the premier location. The Grand Hotel in Taipei is genuinely a delightful establishment, perhaps my favorite hotel in all of Taiwan. However, the same cannot be said for the Kaohsiung location. It is clearly secondary and even a bit neglected. The hotel and its accommodations are fairly nice but at the same time feel quite outdated. The location is relaxing though, if you want to be able to sit by a pool or on a balcony looking out at a lake. Probably the biggest disappointment of my stay was that I was denied entry to the dinner buffet. People who were not guests at the hotel had already reserved all the seats. Luckily, I was able to secure a seat at a different restaurant in the hotel. I think hotel guests should have priority for seats at the buffet. When I was denied access to the buffet it felt like I was being treated as a second class citizen. “Everyone here has reservations…” the hostess told me. Well… how many of them were actually staying at the hotel? From what I could tell, not many of them were.
