Not bad , but if compare with other hot spring hotel I stayed before, this one was so so

Located at outskirt of Kyoto. If you are taking public transport, you need to take the JR to Kameoka station and there is a free shuttle bus from the hotel. However, you need to let the hotel know in advance if you need pick up service, they only have it for certain hours. Best way is to call or contact them via Facebook messenger. Very quiet and serene area. There's nothing much in the vicinity if you don't have a car. If you just want to relax and do nothing, then highly recommended. Do get the package with dinner and breakfast, otherwise there's not much around. The food is kaiseki style and tasty!

Breakfast provided was a simple Japanese style food. About 30mins walk across the lake for a magnificent view of my Fuji across the lake. Shuttle provided to the nearby train station too!

Food is great. I slept so well here. The futons are so comfortable.

Excellent service with a wide range of onsens/baths. Kaiseiki is quite gd woth around 8 courses

I visited for a family trip. I made a reservation for a shuttle bus by phone, but it is quite far from the city center. It is quiet and the air is good, so I am satisfied. Dinner and breakfast were delicious. I think the large bath and open-air bath are not bad. It smells a little like Lux. I was a little disappointed that there was no ice cream that was supposed to be given for free after bathing. I made a reservation for a room with an open-air bath, and the atmosphere was very good and I was very satisfied. The bedding was clean and soft, so it was better than a bed. The staff was also friendly, which was nice. The location may be a pity, but if you think about the atmosphere of Shoenso, it is not crowded, so I would like to visit again.

The waiters are very friendly, and the service at the counter, restaurant, and room is attentive. The environment is also very beautiful. The hot spring is not very big but it has indoor and outdoor facilities.

The ryokan staff are so kind. The hotel interior is clean and the interior is nice. The public bath is also satisfying. Breakfast and dinner are also delicious.

Private hot spring ♨️, one hotel, two meals, perfect experience. The location is a bit far away, but there are 3 special buses to pick up and drop off. It's a pity that I can't catch it, but there are buses arriving. The traffic is low. The number of private hot spring rooms is limited, so you need to book in advance.

It turns out that the shuttle bus requires a reservation to pick up and drop off at Kuk Kong Station This question trouble you to remind other clients next time…otherwise like I had to take the bus by myself yesterday…and a waste of time and money.

After arriving through the shuttle bus service (I went to the train station and made an appointment for me through the information station, luckily there was a seat), a female waiter was originally responsible for the reception in Japanese, but a male waiter (maybe the manager) suddenly came out in the background Following up on the reception, when he was in charge of the reception in English, he just finished what he wanted to explain, and only asked "understand?" and paused for a second before continuing to speak in English. This felt a bit perfunctory to my friends who were traveling with me. But when I saw the same waiter again in the evening, I felt more normal. When entering the hotel, it feels very gorgeous, a bit like entering the bathhouse in "Spirited Away". Super positive

The large hot spring is comfortable and makes you feel refreshed physically and mentally after a dip. The room is slightly smaller with a bath. The kaiseki food is satisfying and the hotel environment is quiet.

The private car arrangement to the hotel was not very good. It was only after I was transferred by the broker that I got help from the local tourism customer service to connect the phone. Only then could I successfully take the last hotel car to go there. Everything else was ideal. Dinner and breakfast were quite satisfactory.
