Overnight winter getaway for an older couple, splurged on a room with a fireplace and a whirlpool bath. Very relaxing and comfortable. One of the chairs in the room was in terrible condition, worn out years ago. The rustic atmosphere throughout the hotel was very well done. Excellent breakfast.

There were bugs by the hot tub, hot tub was still dirty inside, staff was not at desk to help and when she did come back she was sarcastic and rude

We enjoyed the fireplace and sofa area in the lobby. We also brought our own meal food and enjoyed the availability of the dining area to have our meals in.

I used to be an inspector for hotel cleanliness when I was working and staying here was nice because the room was clean. The breakfast they served here was great. The front desk was very helpful.

Cabin atmosphere was cool. Pool area atmosphere was cool but chlorine was so heavy it was unpleasant and hard to breathe, several visitors had skin rash from the chlorine. Breakfast was less than average- Saturday they did have biscuits and gravy but only had biscuits on Sunday. There was a spread of breakfast items but low quality, serve staff were not welcoming. There was 1 front desk staff Saturday evening that said hi to everyone and asked how their evenings were. Cozy fire place areas. Has tons of potential to really great with a good cleaning and some updates as well as improved breakfast dining.

First room went to check in n lock broken. Got second room but they use old key system. Had to reactivate my card at least 5 or 6 times. Woke up Christmas morning to no breakfast. Person at service desk pretty much told us sorry bout your luck , go to gas station. Clerk neglected to notify manager bout kitchen person calling in. But there was a housekeeper that came n cooked her butt off to try to help the guests. Bless her heart. Nothing positive to say about the morning clerk at desk. Will never stay again n will advise anyone thinking of staying. Find something better.

Don’t think the “Sunday club” should have entered the pool area for an hour I believe that’s rude to paying guests.
There was no bar soap in our hotel (cottage room)
Then the tip reminders in a couple different places is EW.
The snow was not scooped between the cottage and the hotel making it hard and not safe for the doors not locking at entrances.
When is breakfast going to become avail in the cottage breakfast area?

Found a set of keys in the pull out couch which led me to believe the pull out couch was never checked so the bedding wasn’t changed. Found popcorn under a chair ottoman- furniture isn’t moved when floors are cleaned. Also- if you are staying in The Cottages, you will not be connected to the main building and will have to go outside to get to the oool/lobby/breakfast. Not bad unless it’s -20 outside, which is was when we stayed.
