"Our room was suite 1201 on the 12th floor. The huge floor-to-ceiling windows offered a beautiful view of the Xin'an River. The only problem was the orientation, as rooms along the river face west. So, in the summer afternoons, it was incredibly hot, making it almost impossible to open the curtains. But in the mornings, the view was stunning. The room was quite clean, though it lacked a refrigerator. There was a bathtub, but surprisingly, no tub cover was provided. Overall, it was a good stay and I'd definitely stay again."

"I didn't take any pictures this time because the experience was so bad, and all our chat records disappeared from the hotel app after we checked out. I rarely write reviews, but I was drawn to this hotel by a parenting blog's 'Frog Family Room.' Let's start with the front desk. This hotel's front desk staff are worse than those at even an average hotel chain; they offer no service, not even a smile. The whole interaction basically revolved around getting me to download their app. No one bothered to tell me about the hotel's facilities or activities; I had to figure everything out myself. I chalked it up to it being summer and a busy period, so perhaps the service couldn't keep up. Then we got to the room I had been looking forward to. It turned out we had to climb a steep set of uneven stone steps to get there. Definitely keep a tight hold on children here! Upon opening the door, it did look pretty, and my child loved it. But that relief lasted less than three minutes before I noticed large yellow stains on the pillowcase. I then saw huge bugs flying around the room; I killed and stepped on at least five of them. The staff offered no solutions, just brushing it off as common due to the mountain location. Considering the price, if this hotel aims to be five-star, then I'm not nitpicking. I decided to tolerate it. I then discovered, on my own, that the hotel offered stream trekking and animal feeding. What a shock! The stream was murky and completely unmanaged, leading to a chaotic scene. The animal area was even worse – it looked like a pigsty in the countryside. I felt sorry for the animals. That night, back in the room, the door didn't close properly, leaving a gap. This resulted in terrible sound insulation, and the cicadas from the mountain made it impossible to sleep. The next morning, at breakfast, frankly, you don't even need to book a room with breakfast. Anyone could just state a room number and walk in; there was no one to check or guide guests. You just had to find a table yourself. Most of the hotel staff were elderly. I don't mean to discriminate, but the management simply wasn't up to par. I can honestly say this is the worst hotel I've ever stayed at."

The moment I opened the door, I was hit by a blast of cold air—haha, this was the coolest room I've stayed in all summer! There's also a balcony with a table where you can eat and drink with friends. And there's an infinity pool, which the kids love to play in. We went swimming at 11 am, and there was an uncle cleaning the pool while a lifeguard was supervising. It was a very fun trip!"

"On the way to Huangshan, I accidentally discovered this treasure B&B in Jiande. We were traveling at the wrong peak, so the mountains were quiet and there were few people on that day. The B&B is very stylish, simple and wabi-sabi, and independent from the world. There are many paintings and calligraphy by contemporary famous artists in the gallery, and I feel vaguely that the owner is a distinguished person. The balcony of the room is super large, with a panoramic view of the nearby mountains and distant mountains. When you are in a daze, even breathing is a pleasure. Unfortunately, it was rainy in the evening and I couldn’t see the sunset😭. Maybe it was full of negative oxygen ions and slept very soundly that night. Someone who seemed like the owner then asked me if I'd be willing to compromise and stay in a windowless room for one night. What kind of hotel makes guests compromise? Don't they usually offer an upgrade to make up for it? They ended up putting me in a room on the lower floor, right above a shop with a blaring loudspeaker. Ugh… the experience was truly awful."

"We took our child to Qiandao Lake, and initially booked the Fairfield. To our surprise, it had issues with safety and hygiene. We reluctantly stayed one night and then decisively checked out early. We then found the Novotel, and as soon as we entered the lobby, it felt much better. It was spacious and clean, and Xiaoxiong, who checked us in, had an incredibly good attitude. The room also felt great. Xiaoxiong modestly said our room didn't have a lake view, but it actually did! Our child needed to do summer homework and check in afterward, so we asked Xiaoxiong for a chair and a lamp. She brought them very quickly. She proactively and patiently answered any questions we had – thank you! The Novotel's pool also deserves high praise. It's large and very well-maintained, clean and free of debris. The water depth is 1.5m, which is a bit deep for children, so kids who can't swim can go to the 0.5m splash area downstairs. The kids' club is also bigger than expected. Even if it rains and you can't go out, kids can play there for an hour or two and won't get bored at all. If I had to pick a flaw, it might be that the breakfast could be slightly more abundant. However, for this value for money, we really can't ask for more! (Avoid Fairfield Qiandao Lake! Influencer recommendations really aren't reliable, absolutely don't go! Unless you don't mind dirty toilets and bath mats; or your child falling off the bed in the middle of the night because the bed and frame aren't secure and slide around; or your rhinitis acting up because the pillows smell bad!)"
