TTamuWe totally recommend this hotel. It's in a beautiful old building, very well preserved and refurbished, and in a great location: in the Xidi old town, but a little bit more isolated, in the more quiet and less touristy area. Our room was spacious, comfortable and very stylish, it even had a tiny annexed studio room with desk and interesting books with a good kettle and tea set available. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom had a very nice bathtub and heated toilet. Our host was super nice and helpful, he came to pick us up and dropped us at the bus station at the end of our stay. He's really friendly and gave us some nice tips on visiting the surrounding villages. He has a very cute dog and a cuddly cat :) Only negative comment: the room's window is on the side of the main road, so you can hear all the cars passing by. But even then, a great stay!

TTamuMy family and I (5 of us) recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming homestay in Hongcun for two days and one night, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The building, steeped in history at 400 years old, is located relatively close to the West entrance, making access a breeze. The rooms were beautifully decorated, clean, and well-kept. Although I initially booked three specific rooms, they were unavailable due to renovation. However, I was provided with three other rooms that turned out to be more spacious, which was a delightful surprise. The lobby felt incredibly welcoming, with a cozy living-room-style atmosphere. There’s a lovely café to the left and a souvenir shop to the right, adding a nice touch of convenience and charm as you walk toward the living area. Wan Jie (elder sister Wan), the host, was truly hospitable and attentive. Her warmth shone through from our first phone call, which she answered cheerfully while helping arrange our pickup, as cars aren’t allowed into Hongcun, a UNESCO Heritage Site. One of the highlights of this homestay was the restaurant nestled in a ”secret” garden—a serene and picturesque spot where my family and I could have happily spent more time. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, adding to the overall experience. Though it was too cool to use during my visit, the homestay also features a pool that would be perfect for summer days. At the end of our stay, Wan Jie went above and beyond by accompanying us to the village exit to wait for our driver, ensuring everything went smoothly before saying her goodbyes. It’s rare to experience such personalized hospitality, and it made a memorable impression on us. Based on my positive experience, I would highly recommend this homestay to anyone visiting Hongcun. It’s a unique blend of history, comfort, and genuine hospitality that truly enhances the visit.

CCharlie M DeanZhang Mansion is a peaceful oasis from the hustle and bustle of the ancient village, its decor and furnishing is fitting with the historic setting but with modern, clean and comfortable amenities. Would definitely stay again and would strongly recommend to others! Hotel manager was very communicative, but you need to have WeChat. They can communicate in English by message with you. The rooms were stunning, service was excellent and the communal areas were beautiful and comfortable. Hotel breakfast was freshly made and they were able to accommodate our requests. Some of the rooms require ascending steep stairs, so if you have accessibility needs it would be best to inform the hotel in advance. Bedrooms are comfortable and cosy. The addition of the tea ceremony area is brilliant. The mattresses and bedding were clean and comfortable. Bathrooms were clean with good pressure hot water. The hotel also put us in touch with a honest and reliable driver that we used for transfers from the bullet train station as well as a trip to Huang Shan (yellow mountain).

TTamu早就想來皖南看看水墨江南了 很高興來到西遞訂到了這家民宿古居·半耕草堂 真的是一次特別愉快的住宿體驗 這家店是明清保存下來的古居改成的 衹做了四間房 進門就受到深深的歷史沉澱感 院裏院外都是客棧老闆自己淘置的老物件古董古蹟 明顯的感到房主的用心經營 我們來時已經傍晚 沿着西遞古村的田野小路踏進了客棧 “燈火深時書有味，墨花晨綻字生香”用這句詩來形容草堂的夜景是更合適不過了。管家小哥非常熱心的給我們介紹每處建築環境細節來由 旁邊有個小閣樓真是讓我驚喜不斷 一樓是茶室 管家小哥熱情耐心地挑選茶葉茶品 供我們浸泡飲用 真的有被感動到🥹 二樓是觀景台還有架古箏 牆上處處的字畫瓷器木雕等等 足以讓人聯想到古時大户人家的院門生活。入住這家民宿 真的幫我加了很多分 沉浸學習到很多徽州文化帶來的魅力 給我這次“文化之旅”圓滿的畫上了句號哈哈。 下次再來一定還會入住半耕草堂 這邊去附近碧山 呈坎 宏村 屏山等等景區都很近！😊

TTamuWe had a fantastic stay at this charming hotel in Huangcun. The owner was very kind—she personally met us and even helped carry our luggage to the hotel. The hotel is beautifully designed in a traditional Chinese house style, and we were delighted to receive a complimentary room upgrade. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with lovely views. Its location inside the old village is very convenient for sightseeing and just a short walk to the ticket gate. Highly recommended!
