Imperial Hotel

The hotel was ok the beds were lovely and the food was quite nice. The entertainment let it down. One man with a guitar or an organ just don’t do it for me. I did notice staff helping people in and out with there mobility scooters the staff are really good. Your coffees comes with dinner no paying for it like at Warner sites. I wouldn’t go back just to far to travel. We went by coach the driver was really good but the day trips were really not right for disabled people. Clovelly was terrible waste of time.

Absolutely brilliant hotel. Room small but very clean, food excellent and always hot, good choice at breakfast. Staff are amazing and go out of their way to help. Good evening entertainment with bingo half way through which is a lot better than the first hour! As far as coach holidays go this hotel is 5* and I am fussy

We stayed at the imperial in Devon from the 2nd of August 2024 OMG what a disappointment it really was first me and the wife was put in a twin room when it should've been a double,So I went to complain but there was no doubles available at that time,about 2hrs later there was a knock at the door to say someone didn't want there double room and only needed a twin so we thought we'd move up to room 219 which was the double our first room was 27. The double room was worse that the twin I had a shower to freshen up but couldn't use their towels as they stuck off stale cigarettes my wife went out to buy some towels so we could shower and feel clean.the rooms are a filthy dirty disgusting place to be there was no shampoo or soap good job we bring our own. Plzzzz be aware off this hotel as it is horrible.

First time staying at this hotel however we have stayed at 7 other Leisureplex hotels over the last 3 years . Stayed as part of an Alfa Travel Christmas break . The bedroom was a clean and tidy standard Leisureplex one that needed an update/ refurb the wallpaper on the ceiling was peeling off also in areas of the hallways . This is typical of most Leisureplex hotels we have stayed in . Tea and coffee making facilities in the bedroom and a table fan and a bath mat if needed . There was a ledge outside the bedroom window that would benefit from being cleaned of the bird droppings and moss as not very pleasant to look at . The public rooms were clean and tidy . There is only one small lift for the whole of the hotel which has four floors . WiFi not the best , kept dropping in and out . The food was good as was the service in the dining room mainly from Ethan ( who was our main server ) but the staff all worked as a team . Generally staff friendly , pleasant and helpful . Tables not too close together as at other Leisureplex hotels . The entertainment was okay overall , different artist each evening , not really our cup of tea .Leisureplex hotels seem to all be stuck in the same groove with entertainment , singing the same songs from the 50s and 60s . I am in my early 60s so would have appreciated something a bit more up to date . Bingo every night . If it had been light nights /summer I think we would have probably spent the evenings at the Wetherspoons just down the road . Was a bit surprised that on the fancy dress night staff were included in the prize giving , reducing the chances of the guests winning ( we did not enter ) .The fancy dress which was a highlight of the stay i felt it was very rushed . No introductions as to who or what the entrants were and no formal way of deciding who had won eg level of applause . The front of the hotel faces the sea and Is a short stroll to the harbour , over the road from the Landmark theatre . Small general store close by . There is a pay and display car park opposite the hotel . Would not be adverse to staying here again as found it to be one of the better run Leisureplex hotels overall we have stayed in .

Very warm welcome all staff even maintenance and cleaners were very very friendly. I am fussy when it comes to food but no complaints from me there was always something to eat that was lovely and tasteful. Would definitely go back to this hotel

Visited this hotel on an Alfa Festive Break and couldn't fault it. Everything was perfect from start to finish. Room was comfortable, food was delicious and the staff are simply brilliant. The hotel itself is well situated and it's only a short walk to the harbour and the High St. Would recommend it and would happily return in a heartbeat.
