I am writing to formally complain about the extremely disturbing and unacceptable experience my family and I had at 花蓮統茂渡假莊園 HUALIEN TOONGMAO RESORT. Our stay was completely ruined due to a massive issue with unbearable noise coming from the bathroom drain, which made it impossible to rest. Given the severity of this issue and the hotel’s failure to resolve it, I am demanding a full refund for my booking. The Main Issue: The Bathroom Noise Nightmare • At 11:00 PM, an incredibly loud, disturbing noise started coming from the bathroom drain every time our neighbors used their water taps. • The noise was so intense and terrifying that it echoed through the room, making it impossible to relax. • I immediately went to the reception to report the issue, and a staff member was sent to my room. Hotel’s Response: No Solution, No Help • The hotel staff recorded a video of the noise themselves, acknowledging how bad the problem was. • However, they told me outright that nothing could be done to fix it. • I also recorded my own video, which clearly captures how unbearable the noise was. Severe Impact on My Family’s Stay • At 11:30 PM, the staff entered our room to inspect the issue, waking my child and further disrupting our night. • My wife, whose birthday we were supposed to be celebrating, was left feeling exhausted and frustrated due to the ongoing disturbances. • The noise continued throughout the night, making sleep impossible. Unacceptable Service & Request for Full Refund This experience was beyond unacceptable. A hotel’s basic responsibility is to provide a quiet and comfortable environment, but instead, we were subjected to a night of relentless noise and frustration. The hotel: 1. Failed to provide a livable room due to the unbearable bathroom noise. 2. Failed to resolve the issue despite acknowledging the problem themselves. 3. Ruined our entire stay, causing us significant stress and inconvenience. Because of this, I am demanding a full refund for my booking. I expect an immediate response confirming the refund and an acknowledgment of the serious failure in service. Thank you for your prompt attention to this complaint.

Quiet place. May be inaccessible but easy to get taxi. The breakfast choices are good, soybean is extremely awesome! Different from what we had back home in Singapore.

Good service and nice room overall. Good Chinese style breakfast. Check in kiosk is used, which is interesting, however still need to go to reception for the breakfast voucher. Location is not the best, 15 minutes walking from Jian train station and pretty much no other public transport nearby. I ordered a taxi from the reception.

Too far from town centre. Room not very clean with dusts over ceiling. Breakfast was not that great either. Not really worth the money.

This is a hotel for tourist group, so so facilties with service OK, but location is remote and hard to get to anywhere. Fair price but low CP considering factors mentioned.

We highly recommended the place. The service was very good. We like to especially thank the staff at its restaurant who went for an extra mile and provided simple take away food for us after knowing that we needed to leave slightly before the meal time.

I saw that the reviews of the hotel were very polarized, so I was afraid that I would make a bad decision! But ~actually~ it’s really not bad! The price is very affordable, so the requirements are not high, and the CP value is quite high!

It's clean, but it's a bit inconvenient to eat! Others are pretty good! If the parking space is full, it may not be enough. In addition, it is not far from the railway. Listen carefully for the sound of trains passing by!

The location is convenient and close to the city. The exterior is beautiful and the garden makes people feel relaxed. However, the parking lot is too far from the hotel building. The beds are comfortable and the TV equipment is new.

The bathroom is bright and the bathtub is large The room is warmer in color, but it feels a little dim with the decoration. I personally don't like it. I hope I can come back to try breakfast.

The exterior may not be very stunning and the hotel may feel a bit old, but after entering, you will slowly discover its inner charm. The Daoxiang double room we stayed in was very elegant and large, especially the oversized bed which was super comfortable to sleep on. I am an elderly person who is undergoing neck rehabilitation and I am very picky about beds and pillows, but I slept very soundly and deeply here. A big thumbs up to the hotel owner for choosing the hard bed facilities. The room is super clean. Although the hardware equipment is not new, it has a simple and elegant charm, which I like. It's a bit like Kung Fu tea that needs to be savored slowly. We are an elderly couple who came to Hualien to visit friends. Before checking in, we requested a quiet room with no smoke. We could not stay in the side room due to our physical condition. Although the room had some minor flaws in sound insulation, the hotel met our needs. The peaceful and pleasant environment in the rice fields will give you a good night's sleep. The backyard also gets high marks, and is perfect for a relaxing stroll. The breakfast was rich and delicious. This is very suitable for us who don't need dazzling amusement facilities and come here to enjoy a comfortable and relaxing accommodation environment. The only drawback is that they don't provide dinner, but we solved that by using the hotel's instant noodles and ordering takeout via mobile phone. The price is very reasonable and it is a highly recommended accommodation.

In addition to breakfast, the hotel does not have a restaurant for lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. We had to find food on our own when staying on New Year's Eve. Finally, we are grateful that 7-11 is open during the Chinese New Year. We happily chose our own reunion dinner at 7-11. The room was a good size, but when my son entered the room, he saw cockroaches crawling as soon as he opened the toilet. I told him it was okay, it had already crawled into the hole, just don't come out, and then he saw ants in the bathtub and bathroom door cracks. On the march. Because I stayed for two consecutive nights, when I checked in, the hotel staff said that they would come into the room to change the towels. I said no, and that they would call the housekeeping if I really needed it. The hotel staff also reminded me that I could just call the counter. When I returned to the room after going out 2 days ago, I found that all the bath towels and garbage had been replaced. If I had known this, I would still go into the room to clean. I would lock the valuables in the safe. After all, there is no need to test human nature. Because this is a trip around the island, my husband's own toothbrush broke, so I checked the government regulations online: personal hygiene products should not be displayed in business premises for consumers to use freely. If you forget to prepare them or have a temporary accommodation, you can still bring them if you need them. You can ask for it or buy it from the business. The hotel chose to sell them, but they only sold a whole set of disposable items for 50 yuan. We couldn’t just buy a toothbrush. Even if we only needed one toothbrush, we still had to buy the whole set, which was not environmentally friendly. What really made me angry was that the hand soap next to the sink was so low that I couldn't squeeze it out. I didn't refill it in advance on the first day. I went into the room to change towels on the second day, but it still didn't refill. Finally, when I checked out, I heard from other guests that they had run out of hand soap, and I felt like I was in the same boat because I didn't have to refill it, but it was really annoying when I couldn't squeeze it out. The conditioner in the shower is difficult to flow after being pressed because of its texture. The bottle is also fixed and cannot be stirred, so you have to keep tapping the bottle to slowly squeeze out enough conditioner. The broken water will spray randomly, and taking a bath will make you feel very tired. Finally, the hotel has soft beds and the basic hardware is OK, but the wind power of the hair dryer is very poor. I did not report the above issues to the hotel during my stay because I felt the hotel staff were all working diligently. I hope the management can spend more time leading and teaching the employees how to do a good job.

The room size is OK, the view is OK. During the day, you can hear the sound of trains passing by. The environment and sanitation are kept quite clean. Breakfast was just so-so, just enough to fill my stomach

The location is very convenient, the CP value is very high, the staff is friendly, and the hotel is new and clean. I recommend everyone to stay here. The bed is soft and comfortable and easy to sleep on. Bring your own supplies and help protect the environment.
