In most regards this is a standard Premier Inn experience; our expectations about the beds and the bathroom, and about the room in general, were well fulfilled. The location is convenient to the west side of Bolton if one has a cycle or a car. Staff are friendly and readily available. Our only complaints centre on wifi, coffee, and bath towels, none of which were up to the usual Premier Inn standard. The wifi wasn’t working at all when we arrived around 9pm Saturday 6 April; rather than being informed of this failure when we checked in, we were left to discover it for ourselves and to enquire at reception. The next morning we found that although the wifi was working again, the wifi signal in our room, #19 on the ground floor, was too weak to associate with the network on the desk side of the room, and on the bed side of the room barely functional if one held the computer up against the headboard. (On scanning others’ reviews, I now see that complaints about the weak wifi are pere At check-in we were informed that, unlike other Premier Inns, this Premier Inn’s breakfast, located in the pub next door, opened only at 7.30am. On arriving at 7.30am we found only instant coffee; there was no brewed coffee. Finding only one large bath towel on the rack in the bathroom, and none in the wardrobe (we did check), we had to ask at reception in the morning for a second one. This was immediately and cheerfully provided, although it would have been nice to have had it in the room in the first place.
