Not bad

Pretty run down, in a rather run down area. The whole building smelled of old cooking oil. There was also cigarette smoke in the lobby.

Old and run down.

Great location, right in front of the tram station, great connections. A remarkable breakfast buffet and staff who were attentive to hotel guests.

We were a family with 4 adults, a 10-year-old child and a small dog. We had booked three rooms for 2 nights and also 2 underground parking spaces and breakfast. The hotel is conveniently located on the main road in Halle Neustadt. The S-Bahn to the old town is right next door. Our cars were safe in the underground car park, which was charged separately, and were not needed there during that time. The welcome and formalities when checking in and out were carried out by the staff in a friendly and patient manner despite the crowds. The rooms are functional and modern and very clean. The bed was super comfortable, so good even after a strenuous journey and back problems that even the very elderly didn't have any pain. In addition, despite the proximity to the main road, we had quiet and restful nights. The shower ran with pleasant pressure and temperature despite the hotel being full and on the upper floor even during peak times. Our family had all three rooms next to each other, which meant short distances for spontaneous arrangements and was more fun than being scattered around the house. The rooms were cleaned daily according to individual wishes - or the door sign saying that they didn't want this because of the dog was taken into account. The early risers among us were particularly nice to be able to get hot coffee or tea in the reception area before breakfast and enjoy it in the quiet courtyard. Speaking of enjoyment: It's worth having breakfast in the hotel!!! Be sure to book it! It is served in buffet form and really covers every taste and hunger. The service is excellent, friendly and helpful, looking after its guests and their needs and keeps an eye on everything so that it can be refilled quickly! After this experience, we would have loved to have dinner in the restaurant. Due to major events and large tour groups this weekend, this was unfortunately not possible for guests other than those in the tour groups, but it looked very good there too. We have no idea where the low rating of the Tryp by Windham Halle comes from. We will all be happy to come back and thank you for the wonderful time.

I didn't arrive in Halle until late in the evening. There is a tram that runs every 20 minutes from the main station to the hotel. The hotel itself is a bit outside the city center, but the location is OK - and the hotel even offers a free public transport ticket. Due to a technical defect, I couldn't stay in the hotel itself, so I could only rate my general impression of the lobby in terms of cleanliness and facilities. The service was absolutely outstanding - very friendly and helpful. In my case, an alternative hotel had already been booked, I was told how to get there and the staff were very friendly and courteous.

Some of the rooms are very worn out, the heating could not be regulated and was on all night.

As always, we felt very comfortable at the Tryp in Halle. The service is great and the staff are so friendly that it feels like "coming home".

Ik vond het een slechte ervaring en veel te duur voor wat je uiteindelijk kreeg. Geen airco in die bloedhitte is niet te doen. Ik was samen met mijn gezin, mijn dochtertje, mijn vriendin en mezelf in een kamer en we dachten dat er airco zou zijn voor die prijs, wat vrij normaal is. Uiteindelijk bleek er geen airco te zijn, zelfs niet in de lobby. Ik heb in een hotel gewerkt waar je voor 50 euro per nacht airco, een mini-koelkast, een grotere kamer en een zachter bed had. Ik begrijp niet hoe je zo’n hoge prijs kunt vragen als je niet eens fatsoenlijke bedden aanbiedt. Mijn dochter stootte zich 30 keer aan het bed omdat er een puntige, scherpe houten hoek aan zat, en mijn vriendin, die al mankementen had, kreeg meer pijn in haar knie door zich ook te stoten. Hetzelfde gold voor de kleine. Het ontbijt was niet hygiënisch; iedereen pakte brood met hun blote handen en niemand gebruikte de doek om het brood netjes af te snijden. Mensen niezen in het eten. De dekens in de kamer waren erg dik voor een ruimte zonder airconditioning. In plaats van dikke dekens had men beter drie ramen volledig open kunnen zetten, maar er kon slechts een klein spleetje open. Uiteindelijk ging ik plassen en heeft mijn vriendin de hele nacht koud gedoucht omdat ze niet kon slapen. Mijn dochter zei alleen maar "auw" en sliep nauwelijks. Ik heb een app om mijn slaap bij te houden, maar daarop hoor je ook vaak "auw" van ons door die bedden. Wel fijn dat de caravan vlak bij het hotel geplaats kon worden maar dit was een malig. Er sliepen zelfs oude mensen die zouden vast gestikt zijn in de nacht zonder airconditioning.
