"We stayed at Halifax South Premier Inn for 1 night on our way back from a new year break and for the price (just £50!) it couldn’t be faulted. Even before we arrived the staff were friendly and helpful, responding quickly to my request for a corner top floor room and allocating us exactly that. This warmth from staff continued at check in and throughout our stay. Our room was exactly what you’d expect from a premier inn, basic furnishings but clean and with a lovely view of the canal. The room was also blissfully quiet with no noise from outside or other guests. There is ample easy parking and we had both dinner and breakfast at the Brewer’s Fayre next door on a premier inn meal deal. The food was decent pub grub and again the service was friendly - having veggie sausage and bacon available at breakfast was a great plus! For the value and location - just outside Halifax - we’d definitely stay here again if in the area."

"Stayed here as we were attending an event at the Piece Hall and Halifax parkrun the following morning. Location is excellent with the four story car park literally next door (£14 for 24 hours). Room was basic but clean and comfortable. Halifax centre is a short walk away and Shroggs Park 25 mins away. We would stay here again if we return."

"Had afternoon tea with prosecco for my Mrs 50th, staff were lovely, food was great really lovely atmosphere. Lots of history if you like celebrities, particularly Sarah Lancashire. Fully recommend 😊"

"Shower water isn't hot enough"

"Booked this after seeing the upgraded room photos. We booked 2 rooms for 4 of us. The actual rooms were not upgraded. Room was large good size bathroom. Dated. Lots of damaged tiles in bathroom. 2 different Bath taps. Long black hairs on the door and in the bath. 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel isn't enough. Old big mugs for tea making and no glass for water. Heating not working properly so oil filled radiator to plug in. The big concern was the number of single men that appeared to be staying there sat outside on the step smoking. There is no bar. No breakfast no restaurant. As others have said you have to hand your key in when you go out. They said it is so they know who is in but seemed a bit odd. It appears that rooms are being used for housing association clients as suggested in another review. This is a shame as the hotel has such potential."
