Getting there from Nagoya train station is either three slow trains (the last one being a cute mountain diesel single carriage one, fancy tourist dining car option also available), or by express bus (make sure you reserve a seat!). We fell asleep to the sound of the river running nearby, there are plenty of shared toilets, and showering is done onsen-style downstairs."

"It's away from the main road and far from other plots, so it's a great place to enjoy nature. The private wood-fired sauna was a valuable experience, and I'd definitely like to use it again. The cottage gets hot during the day, and since you can't open the windows, it's uncomfortable to sleep at night. There must be a gap somewhere, because the second floor has become a home for insects. If only that wasn't the case. Next time I'd like to use the tent deck during the cooler months."
