"This hotel is very close to the train station, not in the direction of the hot spring street, but at the foot of the mountain. The only bright spot of the hotel is that there is a waiter who speaks Chinese. I didn't sleep well the night before. The air conditioner was very loud, and I was woken up by the train at night. There is only one indoor hot spring pool, no view, and the locker has no lock. Anyway, it's quite simple. The breakfast is not bad. "There wasn't anything particularly memorable, but the food was delicious. I always had the large bath to myself, which was very comfortable. The service was good, and the cleaning was fine. It was nice to be able to walk barefoot in the corridors. There were three drinks per person in the refrigerator, and both hot and iced coffee were available throughout the stay. However, from the middle of the night, there were sounds of doors being pulled open, heavy footsteps, and banging noises (what were those sounds?), and these became more frequent from around 5 a.m. The noise was especially noticeable in the morning, so I was certain it was coming from above. Noise from other rooms is unpleasant in inns and hotels, so I wish they would do something about it. I might be able to tolerate it if it were a cheap inn, but this is a high-class inn with only 15 rooms. The now-closed Hakone Auberge Ren was a renovated Isuzu Motors dormitory, so I was prepared for this from the start. I guess the guests on the 4th floor don't realize that the noise carries to the floor below."

Unfortunately, the hotel is not in the Gero town center, and you need to travel by car or taxi. Nevertheless, the onsen bath was very good with alkaline onsen bath soothing the body after a tiring walk around Gero town. The buffet dinner was very good which includes all-you-can-eat crab legs."

The appetizers are beautifully arranged with steamed abalone, chrysanthemum greens appetizer, salmon roe sushi and ginkgo nuts, simmered bowls made with white miso, sashimi, sweetfish grilled with yuzu miso, and roasted Hida beef, all of which have a good taste and are light in flavor. It was easy to eat, and I left out all of it. Both the rice and red soup were delicious. I also felt comfortable in the large public bath. It's not big, but it's not crowded, so you can reserve the open-air bath for yourself, and it's a good size considering the number of rooms. I still want to use it."
