"The hotel is not far from the train station but the road is difficult to walk. The old city is full of narrow alleys, with dangerous buildings on both sides. Small hotels can only be regarded as B&Bs and their conditions are very poor. The facilities are old and some are broken. Just stayed for two days. I tolerate it because I care about travel convenience. There were many black people around at night, and I was still scared. Wouldn't recommend staying here. The reception at the front desk was quite warm. There is no elevator and you have to carry your luggage up and down the narrow stairs."

"Basic hotel with no frills and unnecessary bows. Very friendly staff and maximum cleanliness everywhere. Excellent sized bathroom, only flaw is the lack of a locker. Buffet breakfast in the hotel with a separate price, also basic but more than sufficient (shame about the lack of focaccia). It is located on Via Balbi and therefore a stone's throw from the Piazza Principe railway station and the Porto Antico; therefore very suitable for visiting the beauties of Genoa seen from the sea. The most sought-after areas of the port are easily reached: the Aquarium (well-known throughout Europe), Galata (a sea museum that is truly not to be missed for its special features such as perfect models of ancient ships and even life-size ships that can be visited as well as a whole series of news items relating to the sea), the Nazario Sauro submarine moored in the mirror in front of the Galata and open to visitors, the Neptune galleon anchored and open to visitors, protagonist of the film "Pirates" by Polanski, boats that make daily sea trips to visit the surroundings and also for whale watching. In short, it is a central point for visiting Genoa and its historic sea."

"We initially booked a suite because the room description listed one double bed and one single bed. I have a 3-year-old child, and double beds in Europe are generally small, so we chose a suite. The pictures also showed that. However, upon arrival, they gave me a double room, saying it was because I hadn't informed them of having a child. They said we would count as two people. Fortunately, they eventually upgraded us to a larger suite. It was a fairly standard budget business hotel, right next to the train station and very close to the cruise terminal. Very convenient."
