Ricasoli Garden Relais

This B&B was absolutely exquisite. Beautiful bathroom, comfortable, gorgeous oversize bed. Plenty of room to relax, and a beautiful courtyard to look over and enjoy. If I could give one area of improvement, staff was scarce (as in nonexistent). If there was a need, we had no way to reach anyone. Other than the young man who briefly came to check people in, we could not find anyone on the property to assist with anything. There were emergency numbers to call…for emergencies. Needing toilet paper, is that an emergency? I don’t know. Also, breakfast was not included with the “&B” portion of B&B, so I guess it was just the Beds. They provided dry toast packets with some jelly and an in room coffee pot and said that was our breakfast. Otherwise it would’ve been a perfect five star review.

This accommodation relies on old reviews and is not what it used to be. We were disappointed and it shouldn’t be sitting on a five star rating anymore. There is no breakfast, there is no happy hour, and there is little to no reception staff around. When they are around they are helpful, but this is a rare thing. They do not have things like tissues, or hair conditioner, or any shelving at all in the bathroom. The rooms are big and lack furniture so there are hardly any places to put your clothes unless you hang things. There are signs that the hotel is showing wear and tear - and needs some attention. (Large water stain on ceiling in our bathroom). Not 5 stars. I will say that overall the place was clean - and it’s in a good location. I’d give it 2 1/2 stars if it was available.

Well what can I say. I partner and I stayed here for 2 nights after staying in a hotel 3 nights before when he had a break in Florence. The place is stunning. The room ‘pepper’ we stayed in was beautifully decorated and the attention to detail was spot on. The bed was super comfy! The garden was also stunning with the most amazing decor and furniture and drapes that really gave it such a tropical feel. The touch of happy hour 6-7pm made the visit extra special as we had a free cocktail each every evening and they were delicious and tailor made if we wanted something that wasn’t on the menu. The hosts were amazing and made us feel extremely welcome and nothing was too much trouble for them. The hospitality and warm welcome every time we saw them was so lovely. The hotel was in a very good location near places of interest. If you’re thinking of booking here, DO IT! If we visit Florence again, we will definitely be back!

A beautiful hotel, in a great location 15mins walk from the train station and with the Santa Maria Catherdral right at the end of the road. The staff were brilliant, very friendly and very happy to help with restaurant recommendations and bookings etc. The daily happy hour in the garden was great. Thank you!

Beautiful guest house with very helpful owners who couldn’t do enough for us. Our room was stunning- very spacious with a free standing bath, comfy bed and separate large bathroom, it felt very luxurious. The property is a 2 minute walk to the Duomo and yet it feels so peaceful and relaxing with a beautiful, quiet garden area to relax in. They also have a happy hour every evening at 6pm where they serve a complimentary cocktail with crisps and nuts to all guest and thereafter the cocktails are 6 euros. The cocktails were to a high standard- we loved the Moscow Mules! There is also a coffee machine with an array of complimentary cakes/snacks in the room which was useful when we headed out on an early day trip. On our last day we were able to leave our cases to collect later and when we returned the owners called a taxi for us and served us coffee and water in the garden while we waited. When we went to get the taxi we realised the owner had been waiting outside for the taxi to ensure we didn't miss it. Absolutely outstanding service- like staying in a 5* hotel. It really felt like a lovely home from home and at such a reasonable price we could not recommend enough.

We stayed here for two nights and really recommend it! The hosts are super helpful and welcoming - they gave us great restaurant recommendations with super useful info on each, provided a complimentary bottle of prosecco as it was our honeymoon and made the best cocktails we've had in a long time. We loved happy hour, such a great idea, delicious cocktails and to top it off one each free per night, all enjoyed in the terrace garden. The room was beautifully decorated, spacious with a really comfy bed. Great location down a pretty side street a stone's throw from the Duomo. Thanks for having us!

Where do I begin! We were greeted at reception by a very smiley Rafa who quickly checked us in and showed us to our room. We arrived just in time for happy hour which gives all guests a free cocktail and then €6 for a cocktail there on! We dumped our bags in an absolutely room called Curcuma Suite! The suite has its own bedroom through double door on a magnificent looking bed which is just as comfortable as it looks. It also had Netflix in lots of different languages which was a lovely touch before bed. Turn right through the entrance and you’re met with a bathtub and lounge area which had complementary snacks such as muffins and biscuits! There was another TV in here and an espresso machine. On the other side of the lounge was the bathroom which was lovely, it was equipped with ***** lights above shower which was a nice touch! The shower was lovely, attached to the ceiling feels like warm, soothing and heavy rain. The happy hour makes this hotel so unique, we indulged in this both nights and has about 10 cocktails between two of us through the two nights. We had these cocktails in the garden which we highly recommend doing but you can have the cocktails in your room as well. The garden was stunning to the eye! Comfortable chairs and a beautiful ambiance, this area was lush! The cocktails were incredible, we enjoyed every single one, you’d think you were at a professional cocktail bar, you can enjoy your cocktail with a complimentary bowl of crisps, crackers and nuts! You can also play chess or cards if you feel like it in the garden. The hosts Rafa, Luca and Nick provide the best customer service in Italy! All 3 constantly smiling and going above and beyond to make sure you have the best stay in Florence. Please listen to their restaurant recommendations if you ask for them as the one meal we chose to go with something outside their recommendations we had a terrible meal, they know they proper authentic places in Florence to get this best food and will even book the table for you so you do not have to worry! To top it off, my fiancée and I got engaged a few days prior and were contacted by my parents to leave a bottle of champagne and strawberries in the room. They went as far as to print off a note and set it all up whilst we were in the hotel in the garden and made this surprise look so lovely, they were more than accommodating to my parents which made our stay here that much extra sweeter! Overall if we ever find ourselves in Florence or hear that friends of ours are going we will jump at the opportunity to get a room here booked! The hotel was perfectly located, made it so easy to walk to all of the places we wanted to see while in Florence. The owners were very kind and helpful during our stay as well. Our room was modern, comfy and we enjoyed the view and listening to the bells of the church during the day. Stick around during the afternoon for their happy hour! Fun time to meet some other travelers and enjoy a delicious cocktail or two.

We came here for a few nights on our honeymoon, and it really is a hidden gem in the centre of Florence. Luca was so helpful, giving us lots of recommendations, and the room was stunning, and huge! With a view over the gardens, which we went to every evening for happy hour to receive a complimentary drink. The gardens were so peaceful and it was just lovely to sit for an hour and chat to the other visitors to the hotel. Overall we highly recommend, great location, great service.
