Holiday Inn Express & Suites Findlay North

We were in town for an event and chose the Holiday Inn & Suites. It appears that the facility was newly renovated or newly built. Check-in was quick painless, especially since we didn't arrive till midnight. Our room was clean and cozy. I was surprised by the bathroom. The mirror was lit from behind or had lights built into it. A nice step up for a facility of this classification. A good stay.

We stayed here for the eclipse. They were sold out but everything went remarkably smooth. Check in was very quick. The room was impeccably clean. Breakfastwas hot and fresh. They gave everyone a welcome packet with eclipse glasses. All the employees we were in contact with were friendly. I would not hesitate in staying here again. Very well prepared and positioned for the expected crowds.

We stay at many IHG “holiday inn” hotels and many are just not the same as before Covid. This one was one of my favorite stays in hotel. The hotel was very clean and had very convenient parking. The best part, the continental breakfast (that it seems other hotels don’t hardly offer anymore after Covid) was a great breakfast with more choices than I ever seen. The workers there cleaned the tables frequently so you could sit where you want and there was a tv playing the morning news. The only negative I could say about this stay was that the bed was too soft and I woke up with a back ache. Pillow top mattress I’m guessing.

No complaints! Fastest hotel check in ever! Very welcoming and friendly front desk host! The room was clean and quiet! I left something in the room and they are kindly saving it till I can pick it up and I will definitely stay on my return trip.

Let me start by saying breakfast was great and kitchen staff was very friendly. My complaint however is that when I went to dry off with a towel in my room, one of the folded towels was covered in blood. Now, this was obviously done by the previous occupant and just put back. My issue is, a new set of towels should have been placed in my room prior to arrival. My second issue is, even though I informed the front desk about this and they apologized for it, they charged my room a fee as if I had done it. So not only was I possibly exposed to God knows what because of their negligence, but they also charged me more than the room cost to begin with. I guess they thought I wouldn't check my bill.

We stayed here on Sunday August 6. We chose the hotel because on the IHG website it said "Pet Friendly". We signed the papers put in front of us upon check in, and shame on us for not reading all the fine print: there was a $75 "pet fee" which hardly makes the place "pet friendly". Had they been up front about this usurious fee on the website along with their room rate, perhaps we would have chosen any number of other Findlay hotels. We normally stay at Holiday Inn Express and while some are better than others, most of the time the pet fee is in the $25-$35 range. Aside from the pet fee, the hotel was very nice. Ample breakfast selection and everything in order in the room. I'll be more careful to check on the pet fee, but this was plain ridiculous. My dog made not a peep in the hotel, didn't destroy or wear out anything, caused no issues or disturbance of any kind. Had I brought along an unruly child, that would have been at no additional cost. The management and ownership of this property needs to get a clue; you can charge an extra cleaning fee, or replacement fee if a pet or anybody breaks, steals or destroys something. But to charge $75 pet fee on top of a room that normally costs about $122 is just plain ridiculous. We will NOT be back to this hotel.

Upon arrival, I checked in with front desk agents Robin and Ally, and the experience set a disappointing tone for the rest of my stay. Robin and Ally's lack of professionalism was evident from the start. They exhibited a shocking disregard for guests' needs and displayed a disinterested and apathetic attitude. It was as if I was an inconvenience they couldn't be bothered to deal with. Their behavior was disrespectful and completely unbecoming of individuals representing a reputable hotel brand like Holiday Inn. Throughout my stay, the poor service continued to mar my experience. Any hopes of a positive turnaround were dashed as I repeatedly encountered Robin and Ally's unhelpful and distasteful behavior. Their antics included talking behind guests' backs and displaying an utter lack of consideration, leaving me questioning why such individuals are allowed to work in the hospitality industry at all. The disappointing performance of Robin and Ally underscored a troubling inconsistency in the level of customer service provided by the front desk staff. It's evident that the hotel's management has failed to address the glaring issue of unprofessional conduct within their team. Despite the hotel's physical amenities, the stain left by Robin and Ally's disgraceful behavior is difficult to ignore. A well-maintained facility means little when the very individuals meant to enhance the guest experience are the ones causing it to plummet to new lows.

Don't stay longer than one night at this Holiday Inn Express. They are cutting every corner possible, including housekeeping. They place a sticker (see photo) on your keycard jacket that states you need to request housekeeping services upon check-in. Even if you do so, regardless of how many times that you ask, it won't happen. Thus, you are the janitor and towel boy, which gets annoying on a multi-night stay Next, they'll require you to request running water, electricity, and TP.

Stay started off bad as I was almost charged to my personal credit card for the stay my business was covering for training. The travel agency needed to call them and the staff informed me their phone lines were down. I’m staying here for 35 days, and have an electric car. I charged my car at a fast charger on the way here, but nothing is around the area except for Tesla chargers. I topped off my car at an outlet outside the hotel, which I’ve done at past hotel stays just to top it off. I come home from work today and they purposely changed the covers on the outlets and zip tied them. It cost pennies to charge it the 15 miles it takes to get to and from training for work. They seem to go out of the way at this location to not serve the needs of EV drivers, and obviously seen my car on the charger and changed the outlets that worked so I could no longer use them. They could provide car chargers at this location instead of making my life harder. I have to drive 50 miles out of my way to the nearest public charger while I sit and wait for it to charge now. I will not stay at a Holiday Inn again.
