Hotel Family Friendly Haikou

Hotel has a good location surrounded by many restaurants/bakery/cafe. There is also a mall just across the hotel and a souvenir shop adjacent to it. I only booked the room for one night but decided to extend my stay as it is very convenient, clean and comfortable. The room also has ample space and looks very modern. On the second night, the hotel staff also left a fruit basket in my room; thank you for the kind gesture. For the price paid, I'd highly recommend this hotel!

My final stay was at the Mercure Haikou City Center. I booked a Deluxe room, which was clean and functional. The staff were friendly and even helped us check out from the previous hotel. The location was excellent, with easy access to parks and malls. The room came with a bidet, which was a nice touch, and the bed was comfortable. However, the air conditioner was weak, and since we couldn’t open the window fully, we had to sleep without blankets. Overall, for the price and space, I can’t complain. It’s a great hotel for city explorers who just need a place to bathe and sleep. There are plenty of food and shopping options within walking distance, and you can easily rent a bicycle to explore Evergreen Park, Century Park, and even Qilou Old Street.

Let's start with the positives. The rooms at the hotel were undeniably great. They were spacious, well-designed, and offered a comfortable ambiance. I particularly appreciated the attention to detail in the room decor, making it a pleasant space to relax after a long day of exploring the area. The hotel's breakfast selection was another highlight of my stay. There was a good variety of options, and the quality of the food was quite impressive. Starting my day with a satisfying breakfast definitely set a positive tone for my daily adventures. Though the overall service at the hotel was just okay, there was one staff member who stood out and made a significant difference in my stay - Kitty. Kitty's exceptional assistance and attentiveness were truly commendable. She went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed and provided excellent recommendations for local attractions and dining options. However, there were some glaring issues that affected my experience. First and foremost, the Wi-Fi connection was terrible. As a traveler, having reliable internet access is essential for staying connected and planning daily activities. Unfortunately, the unreliable Wi-Fi at the hotel made this difficult, and it was quite frustrating. Additionally, the swimming pool was a letdown. Despite appearing beautiful in the pictures, it was actually dirty during my stay. I was looking forward to relaxing by the poolside, but the unclean water made it an unappealing option. Furthermore, the location of the hotel was a significant drawback. It was far from most of the popular attractions and amenities, making it inconvenient and time-consuming to travel to places of interest. I found myself spending more time commuting than enjoying the destination itself. On the culinary front, while there was a restaurant called ”China First,” the food was indeed excellent. However, I can't overlook the fact that it was expensive, and overall, the hotel felt overpriced for the amenities and services provided.

Nice modern hotel. It was our first stop in Haikou, and the reception staff - Daisy and the other girls- showed great hospitality, despite not speaking English. Location is good, across the highway there are some malls and lively local food streets. The bad part - in the room we got at first there was a strong cigarette smell, we got the room changed, but the smell was still coming and going from the vent system, as some of the guests clearly smoked in their rooms, despite the ”no smoking” policy. It was bearable, but unpleasant.

Good location, next to a big shopping mall, 10 mins walk from Chengxi railway station. Breakfast is good, Good service from David, hotel provide shutter to airport but my flight at night and already out from shutter schedule time, David help to book didi to airport with no charge and pay by hotel.

The 24-hour shuttle service to Meilan Airport or Meilan High-speed Railway Station is really convenient. The room is clean, spacious and comfortable. I left early in the morning and packed a hot breakfast. When I left, someone helped me with my luggage. Everyone was very friendly, especially when I accidentally walked into a free activity nearby. The hotel's Xiao Kaikai even took us there. The porridge in the evening was also great. I will choose it again next time if I have the chance.

Second time staying in this hotel and enjoying. Really good price/value. Hotel is in a central area and nice to relax alone or in couple.

Atour light is a great hotel even though its not as big as other hotels. I like to praise the staff'for their positive, helpful attitude. I am satisfied with their service, especially a young man by the name of Yan Yee who goes beyond his duty to help with translation of english. Assist in booking our cab and assist especially with the mandarin address which we were clueless. Kudos to all the front line staff and ground staff who were very helpful even when they were busy. A young cheerful lady staff (did not get her name) was also very helpful too in helping us on our final day of checkout when we have difficulty with the didi booking App. We very much appreciated their fantastic service, the past few days of our stay here. Keep up the good job. Your management should be very proud to have such a great team. Our 4-nights stay here was made pleasant. We had some issue with the toilet not able to flush. The staff came and fix the issue for us immediately. Hotel was not located near to the city, there's no other mode of public transport available except calling for the taxi or DiDi in China which was quite easy using the Alipay app. Is about 20-30 mins drives to Qilou Old street and other malls in the city area. Price of the hotel room was consider reasonable and affordable. Overall staying experience was good.

It was really pleasant to live here, the room was clean and tidy, and the three big beds were very suitable. The store customer service is very intimate, who responds when something happens, and the cleaning aunt is also very enthusiastic!
