"A national lodging facility on the shore of a mountain lake. I decided on this one based on the good reviews. It seemed busy at reception, but the rest of the time seemed to be for the outdoor facilities. Of the two female front desk staff, the one without glasses was very friendly. The silica bath was overflowing with flavor and very comfortable. The next day, a completely different male staff member was there. Breakfast was modest. Reviews from a few years ago seem to have been a little more satisfying. But the rice and green tea in the teapot were delicious, and I was satisfied with the bare necessities. Today's check-out wasn't in person, and there was a box for returning the key. However, the young male staff member from earlier happened to be passing by, and he showed me on a map the safe route down the mountain by car for sightseeing the next day, which was very helpful. I recommend arriving while it's still light out."

"It's about 15 minutes from Ena Station, so it's inconvenient to get there by train. If you have a car, I think it's a convenient location. I stayed in a single room, and there was breakfast and a large public bath, so I was able to relax. I think the price is on the cheaper side."

"I stayed here with my dog. As a result, bathing and breakfast are served one person at a time, but I like it because the food is delicious. When I went to take a bath, there was someone already in the smaller bathtub, so I felt a bit hesitant and only washed myself without getting in the water. There are no extra charges on weekends or during peak season, which is a great plus. Also, although I'm not usually that interested, "Gin no Mori" is very close by, so I can get their limited-quantity cookie tins just by going to the front of the store right before it opens, which is a nice little treat."

"This place is so beautiful, traditional style rooms and sliding doors, lots of natural wood. It felt like I was in a luxury hotel! The woman who ran in was so kind and friendly, I loved my stay here. I stayed here to hike a portion of the Nakasendo Way- Magome to Tsumago. It’s not close, you have to go to take like 2 or 3 transits to get there, I think it was like 2 hours to get there if I remember. It’s an old, traditional Japanese village- the buildings are really cool. There wasn’t much going on though while I was there, not many restaurants open. I ended up stocking up on food from 7/11 in Ena or Nakatsugawa I think it was to take back with me because there aren’t any stores like that in Iwamura that I found. You can get cash out from the ATM at the post office. This was a very peaceful place and a cool insight into a non-touristy area of Japanese life. Would definitely recommend this accommodation."

"Since it is a Yukai Resort, the facilities and system are the same. The exterior of the building was noticeably old, and the interior was a bit complicated, but it was clean. Our room was on the first floor of the West Wing, so we could see the lake, but the view was not that great. Perhaps because it was a weekday, there seemed to be few guests staying, so we were able to relax in the hot springs both at night and in the morning with only a few people. The spring water contains salt, but I think it is of good quality. There was a yakiniku buffet and a variety of sushi, and the food was good. I thought the staff were very friendly. The surrounding Ena Gorge itself was not that appealing. Rather than staying for sightseeing, I think it is a good place to relax and enjoy the hot springs at a reasonable price."

There are no convenience stores nearby, and we had to climb a steep mountain path, but the natural surroundings and the starry sky at night were spectacular. "It is now called Ena Hanare no Yado. As soon as you enter the annex, you are hit with the stale smell of an old house. It needs frequent ventilation. The pillow smells of sweat. I decided not to use the pillow. I occasionally encounter inns with unsanitary pillows. The blanket also smells of sweat. It's unusable. Please wash it. I'm worried about dust mites. A stink bug even flew in. The whole inn should be steam-washed. The uncleanliness is conveyed even from the photos. The pillars must be washed. I chose the Matsutake mushroom plan. It was okay. The wild mushrooms were delicious. I'd like to come back just to eat the wild mushrooms for lunch. The hot spring was okay. Gin no Mori is a 200m walk away. It's the complete opposite of this inn in terms of modernity. The number of guests is incredible, showing how good they are at business."
