This is incredibly sad and shows that the island is not in a good condition and is not respected and cared for as Anantara normally stands for in its sustainable and environmentally friendly way (pictures available). Construction work at the Helios Restaurant where several excavators and Bobcat were working during lunch. Much too loud engine noise and exhaust fumes 20 meters in front of the terrace where lunch was served!!!! There was no written information beforehand that construction work was taking place on the complex, nor was there any indication at check-in or when booking. Peacock on the paddle court (all full of droppings) - There are no doors to prevent the animals from entering. Daily review and cleaning of the facility. Carelessly furnished spa ambience (empty showcase, artificial lawn etc.) with average service during the trea**ent. Breakfast (maximum standard) - selection of fruit / too few staff / coffee and orders do not arrive at the same time - very long duration. Unmotivated service (Nina). Noise level in the room (humming of a generator even though the air conditioning is switched off). Aircraft noise Vehicles passing in front of the house can be heard loudly when you are lying in bed. Guests in the boat - luggage is still being loaded - departure delayed. An employee must have used the telephone in the room for a local call which was listed on the bill. Check out (minibar must be checked personally - waiting time). Done according to admin standard process at check out, no question about the stay or whether something is needed. There are dates and Arabic coffee available at check out. unfortunately the coffee was an empty pot. no drinks or similar were offered on departure despite waiting time. There was enough staff in the room but they were busy with themselves. This is also the overall impression that remains. Everyone is busy with themselves and doesn't look after you like we are used to from Anantara. At Qasar Al Sarab, Abu Dhabi Mangrove and in the Maldives, we are used to the unmistakable quality of Anantara. It's very sad when you choose this location and don't get what you should actually expect for this price.
