"I genuinely don't get time to write reviews but the bad behaviour of this hotel staff compelled me to write one. I'm sharing my experience so that no one else suffers like me after making the payment online. This is basically a three star hotel at the price of a four star. The rooms are good with balcony and bathrooms are clean. But that's not all one looks for while booking a four star or a five star hotel. If all I have to do is to get locked inside four walls then I don't need to book a four star. I can get good rooms at affordable prices anywhere. I primarily booked this place to stay with my family and kids and specifically chose this hotel over other because of the swimming pool. We reached late in the evening on 04th Oct and next day morning when we asked them about the pool the staff said due to rains the pool is closed. I didn't understand the logic of rains and closing the swimming pool. I immediately called up the General Manager of the hotel Mr.Saklani, who really behaved like a gentleman at first and told me in five mins the issue will be resolved. He called the hotel staff and told them to get the pool ready, i was given an assurance by the front desk manager Mr.Rawat that the pool will be opened in a short while. I felt very nice and asked the front desk to intimate me once it gets ready. My kids were so happy hearing that. But the hotel staff didnt call me till the time of my check out 1145am and when I asked them how much more time will they take, i was told very rudely that the pool can't be made ready. i tried to complain the issue to Mr.Saklani but his phone was switched off. Then i understood that they were just giving me false assurances and fooling me around so that I keep waiting until i check out and leave the issue unresolved. I felt so miserable and left a MSG to Mr.Saklani expressing my disgrace and disappointment and the selfish *** didn't even bother to reply to me. As I had done the payment online before checking in to the hotel i could not do much about it than to just leave the hotel without loosing my peace further. my kids felt so bad being at this hotel that i had no face to show them. Why one should go through this misery even after paying so much especially for the amenities they have projected saying everything is available at that hotel. first thing I would say is they should have intimated to the guest or on their website atleast that the pool in under maintenance or not available. They won't do that because they will loose out on their business. second thing least they could have done is to be honest in telling me thay it won't be possible to make it operational in the time available. a sincere apology would have resolved the issue. but instead they kept lying to me giving me and my family false promises. altogether i felt pathetic and I didn't have any good experience staying in this hotel and i will never book this place for my stay ever again. rest i leave it at your discretion and decision. book this "

"If you compare to a price it was a decent stay if you are looking for a one day stay as it was very close to railway station and most of the trekking pick up points. Hot water was only available from 6am till afternoon. They can improve a bit in hygiene as bed sheets were not clean and flush was not working but the hotel staff was helpful. One can find good pure vegetarian food options nearby only."

"We had our first stay at Sterling Marbella, and it was a wonderful experience. Everything was very well managed, and we truly enjoyed our stay. I would especially like to mention Ms. Kanchan, who was extremely helpful and welcoming throughout our stay. She kindly arranged an early check-in for us and also personally checked with us during our stay to make sure everything was comfortable and that we were not facing any issues. This kind of personal attention and care made us feel at home and gave us the feeling that there was someone genuinely looking after us. "WARNING: GINGER HOTEL, RAJPUR ROAD, DEHRADUN — CHEATING CUSTOMERS IN BROAD DAYLIGHT ⚠️ ★☆☆☆☆ — Zero Stars if I Could I am a repeat, loyal customer of Ginger Hotels. I booked a 3-night stay at Ginger Rajpur Road, Dehradun via MakeMyTrip and paid the ENTIRE ADVANCE UPFRONT. What happened next was nothing short of a hospitality nightmare and a textbook case of consumer fraud. 🚨 HERE'S WHAT HAPPENED: I arrived at 8:00 PM after a long journey, only to be told at the front desk — casually, without any apology — that they "cannot give me a room" due to an AC breakdown on the entire floor. Let that sink in. A big-brand hotel. Full advance paid. Reservation confirmed. And they couldn't be bothered to call, message, or email me even once before I showed up at their doorstep. 🚨 IT GETS WORSE: When I told them — very reasonably — "It's okay, I don't mind the AC. I've stayed here before, I know you have fans. Just show me the room," — they completely changed their stance. One moment it was an AC issue. The next moment, suddenly, the room itself was unavailable. A 360-degree flip the moment they realized their excuse wasn't working. This was no longer about AC. This was deliberate, coordinated denial of service after taking full payment. 🚨 AND THEN THIS: I politely asked to meet the Front Office Manager, Duty Manager, or General Manager. I was told none of them were available. At a fully operational hotel. At check-in hour. They cancelled my reservation right in front of me — without my consent. They then had the audacity to tell me to contact MakeMyTrip for a refund, essentially washing their hands of their own misconduct. THE REAL QUESTIONS GINGER DEHRADUN MUST ANSWER: If your entire floor had an AC breakdown — why was your inventory still open for booking? Why was no communication sent to a pre-paid guest? Why did your excuse change the moment I agreed to stay without AC? Where was your management team when a guest was being turned away? Why was my reservation cancelled without my consent? THIS IS NOT A HOSPITALITY FAILURE. THIS IS A CONSUMER RIGHTS VIOLATION. Taking full advance payment, denying check-in, refusing management access, and forcing a third-party cancellation is not a "policy" — it is cheating, plain and simple. I am escalating this to: @GingerHotels across all social platforms MakeMyTrip customer grievance team Consumer Forum / NCDRC Every travel review platform — Google, TripAdvisor, MMT, Ixigo @GingerDehradun @GingerHotels @MakeMyTrip — this is your moment to respond publicly.
