The level of enthusiasm at the front desk is average, not bad, but it doesn't feel like the warm welcome you get when you first arrive, no questions asked, no greetings. We are all women at night and we feel unsafe. The lady who cleans the room and laundry room is nice and very polite. After checking out, I came back to pick up my luggage. I wanted to use the public bathroom in the hotel, but I was told there was no one. It was so embarrassing. The room is large, the bed is large and movable, and the sofa is long and can be used as a bed. The bath water is very big. To be honest, service is more popular than hardware, and employee training or corporate philosophy should be strengthened. The Ibis brand should not be influenced by geography. After writing it, I withdrew my negative comments. Shanxi is a city that is growing and making progress. It just needs to be corrected. Breakfast and late night snacks are available nearby, and it’s convenient to take a taxi to everywhere. Datong is worth a visit! ! ! I thought about it for a long time

Spacious room, clean and comfortable. Breakfasts were more than adequate with a choice of varieties. Hotel location was ok just outside the wall though neighbouring shops were all shuttered. Taxis plentiful and inexpensive. Nightly dinner was at the hotel restaurant - good food, surprisingly very affordable prices and extremely good services from the staff. What stood out most were the very helpful, cheerful staff, at the front desk, restaurants, and cleaners!

I recently came to the ancient city of Datong from Beijing and chose Yungang Jianguo Hotel to stay. When you first walk into the imposing lobby, the exquisite decoration is very eye-catching. In particular, the service reception is warm and thoughtful, and the business is skillful. Special praise for the two beautiful waiters, Meng Nan and Wang Caiyun, who took the initiative to help solve every problem they encountered. There was also a waiter on the 8th floor of Tower A who helped adjust the air conditioner and was very responsible. When we came to the restaurant at noon and chose the buffet, the waiters Sun Liying and Wang Hao were enthusiastic and thoughtful, and promptly helped solve minor situations we encountered. Thumbs up to them and all the service staff in the store! With three days and two nights of food and accommodation here, we felt like home. The room is spacious, clean and hygienic, bathing is very convenient, and sleeping is very smooth. For breakfast, the buffet has rich dishes and a lot of options. The color, aroma and taste are both good and delicious. The milk and soy milk coffee is very suitable for our taste. Overall, this was a very pleasant accommodation and dining experience. Excellent hotel! The service was exceptional. The ladies at the reception were amazing. They booked us a taxi for visiting the great Buddhas and they provided us with a breakfast picnic bag when we left too early in the morning. The hotel is situated just a few minutes walk from the old town. Quite handy. There is a free laundry room that we could use for our clothes. Much needed! The buffet breakfast was delightful and varied. Perfect stay!

Didn't expect this very niche and grande hotel in a city that many non-Chinese traveller might have not ever heard before. The room is huge, clean, modern yet classy. The breakfast area is the champion, with pools surrounding the dining area, very good spot for taking social media contents. Location is very easy to find, right in the main road that connects to the old town of Datong. Parking spot is widely available in the basement.

I have stayed in so many hotels, both cheap and expensive, but I have never encountered a leaking water pipe in the room. The water supply was cut off in the middle of taking a shower. It was speechless. Although the staff actively solved the problem every time, Weidu is considered a mid-to-high-end hotel in Datong. Why is there so many problems with the infrastructure?
