Grand Teguise Playa

Me and my family stayed at Grand Teguise Playa from the 10th-21st August on the all-inclusive package. Upon arrival there was a luggage room to store our bags until the check-in time. The gentleman on reception was helpful and friendly, explaining everything we needed to know including restaurant times, towels and the hotel facilities. The rooms are spacious, modern, very clean and have everything you need for a comfortable stay, including a mini fridge, a safe and a hair dryer. We celebrated my mum’s birthday whilst on holiday and we had a complimentary bottle of prosecco in each room which was a nice touch. The food in the restaurant was very nice. Some nights had different themes such as Mexican or Italian. The outside snack bar in the late afternoon was great too, dojng hotdogs, burgers and toasties. The alcoholic drinks from the bars were nice, and most of the drinks we had used the real branded spirits which was a good surprise. There is a different selection of cocktails, but they tend to be nicer from the inside bar. The pool is big and is split in half so one side is cold and the other side is heated, and it is a salt water pool. Most of the entertainment activities take place in the heated pool. The rush for sun loungers isn’t as bad as other hotels. To get some in a good spot I’d say you have to be down there around 8am but most of them are in the sun all day anyway. In the mornings it is very very windy and a lot of the sun loungers were blowing in the pool, and this happened throughout the day when the loungers and parasols were left unattended. When this happened the lifeguard didn’t seem to be too bothered and guests had to keep getting the loungers out of the pool. There is a gate by the pool that takes you out towards the little beach. This was fun to go down to and swim in the sea. The entertainment team were good, notably the gentleman who was there everyday all day in good spirits! He was friendly, energetic and entertained all the guests from 10am through till 11pm. The nightly entertainment was good, different every night with acts coming into the hotel to perform inside and singers performing outside. We really enjoyed the Duet Grenade act in particular, they were brilliant! There is also a gym onsite, however quite a lot of the machines weren’t plugged in so most of them were out of use. There was free wifi throughout the hotel, but it worked best in the rooms and not great around the pool. There are lifts also dotted around the hotel making each floor accessible. There are vending machines in reception with a few snacks in but there is also a Spar over the road to get some snacks. Outside the hotel there are plenty of bars, restaurants and shops. The hotel also isn’t far from the waterpark, we visited one day and reception called us a taxi. And the hotel is about a 20-30 minute drive away from the airport. Where do I start. First visit definitely won’t be the last. What a spectacular hotel. Inside you feel like you are in the tropical outdoors. Every room has a sea view . Impressive as you enter the reception and the rooms are spacious. We were on the 2nd floor lovely view. Food was fabulous lots of selection and amazing chefs. Even the fussiest eater would find something here. Loved the salads and really enjoyed the duck, lamb and steak. Big eating area and service first class - waiting staff were with you as soon as you sat down for your drink order. I had my first taste of sangria! Beautiful. Lovely crazy golf ( the volcano hole is hard) and putting. Animation team great and friendly but not over the top. Enjoyed the shooting ( when I managed to hit the target ) lots of laughs. Bar great on an evening- entertainment varied and quality of drinks good. Loved the revolving seating area and plenty of tables. Nicely placed for the beach promenade and shops. Pools nice and loungers were plentiful but would benefit from stopping people rushing down to reserve with towels as even in October people were putting towels on from 6.45. We always got one after 1pm. All staff friendly and the place is so clean. I have come home and already pricing this up for next year the first time I have ever wanted to return to the same hotel. Have just got back from a weeks stay with my partner and our 10 month old daughter and absolutely loved our stay! The hotel is just stunning and the location couldn’t be better being right on the beach front and only a short walk away from lots of shops, bars and restaurants. The hotel staff were extremely attentive, especially those who served us at dinner times. They could not have done anything more for us and were so friendly and welcoming. We found the food itself to be lovely- definitely typical of an all inclusive buffet but plenty of options and lots of variety during each meal so no complaints at all. The pools were lovely and we especially loved the heated pool for our little girl. There are plenty of sun beds and we never seemed to have an issue to find space although not sure how this would be at peak summer time. The hotel and area as a whole has a very relaxed vibe to it, this was nice travelling as a young family but not sure it would suit families who like a bit more excitement and stuff going on on there holidays. May be important to note as well that this time of year they do not run any sort of kids clubs/kids mini disco etc. this wasn’t a problem for us as our daughter is a bit young for any of that anyway but the clientele definitely seemed that of older couples rather than young families but this may been the time of year we chose. Overall a lovely stay and would be recommending

We had a great holiday at this hotel,quick check in room was ready.Room was good had a great sea view,the pool area is very good but you do have to get up early to get a bed,the food is ok we didn't like the evening meals we are not fussy eaters but not much choice so had evening meals out 4 times in our 7 night holiday.

Just returned from what I can only say was amazing, hotel was so clean rooms fantastic, food wow plenty to choose from every day, all the staff were so nice only miserable one was a young girl at the pool bar that slammed your drinks down lol,people do get down early to get sunbeds so be prepared to get up early ,would I go back ?? Definitely a yes

Just had a lovely week at this hotel with my husband and two adult sons. The location is spot on, nice rocky little cove directly near hotel, great for snorkelling my boys loved it. Two pools one deeper and a shallower pool which was colder. Nobody went in the cold one hardly but we actually loved it, had it to ourselves. Sun loungers there was sadly the old get up early for a lounger issue, not a problem for me as I’m an early riser. Rooms no complaints. The were clean and up to date, there was water left on arrival and feel the room could have done with a small fridge to allow us to keep drinks cool. Just had basic tea and coffee which was disappointing, expected more as its ment to be 4/5 star. So perhaps a fridge could be an improvement. Loved the fact drinks were served in real glasses in the evening, which isn’t always the case in some all inclusives. Also some drinks were well known brands. Entertainment was a mixed bag of all sorts, a little cheesy but it’s what you expect. If you’re willing to embrace that you’ll enjoy it. But we also made our own entertainment. Food was not always on point every day but we did have some great days with salmon fillets and pork. Wasn’t awful but not perfect either. Wine given in a jug made my husband very happy. Most staff were friendly and as long as you’re polite they were too. I got the feeling other countries might not have been polite to them. The hotel overall is good and location is perfect. Will definitely visit again
